A few months back, rumors circulated about Marvel Studios working on the ‘Midnight Sons’ project, with indications that the forthcoming ‘Blade’ reboot might connect to it.

The project reportedly features characters distinct from those in The Avengers lineup, with suggestions that Doctor Strange might not join the team.

Following a string of disappointing projects, Marvel Studios has adjusted its focus somewhat. Brad Winderbaum acknowledged that not all projects in development will see the light of day, leading many to speculate that ‘Midnight Sons’ might meet this fate. However, according to MyTimeToShineHello, the project remains active, with Fede Álvarez reportedly being considered for the director’s chair.

Uruguayan filmmaker Federico Álvarez is celebrated for his contributions to movies such as ‘Evil Dead’ (2013) and ‘Don’t Breathe’ (2016). His early success stemmed from the short film ‘Ataque de pánico!’ (2009). Currently, Álvarez is immersed in post-production for his latest endeavor, ‘Alien: Romulus’.

The Midnight Sons were brought together by Ghost Riders Danny Ketch and Johnny Blaze, guided by a prophetic vision. They discovered Lilith’s resurrection and her scheme to enslave Earth using her demon offspring, the Lilin. Among Lilith’s devoted children, Blackout emerged as a formidable adversary. To thwart this peril, the team assembled, comprising the Nightstalkers, Morbius, the Spirits of Vengeance, and the Darkhold Redeemers, with Doctor Strange later joining their ranks.
