Disney+ Gives ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ a Latverian Makeover Ahead of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
The countdown to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is on, and Marvel fans are looking for clues everywhere. With the film set to arrive on December 18, every new poster, social media post, and promotional tweak gets studied for hints about which heroes will face Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.
2 names have dominated that guessing game: Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. Neither has been confirmed for the film, but fans have been hoping both will return as Marvel’s multiverse saga heads toward its big finale.
Now a change on Disney+ has added fuel to those hopes. Fans noticed that the title card for ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ has been updated with ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ artwork, and it now shows Wanda and Doctor Strange in front of a Latverian mural.
The new image places the Scarlet Witch, in her red crown, beside Strange in his high-collared cloak. Behind them is a glowing green stained-glass design that matches the look of Doom’s homeland, Latveria.
ComicBookMovie also reported that the film’s Disney+ landing page now uses a ‘Doomsday’ background. The outlet suggested this marks the 2022 film as essential viewing before ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and called it “another big hint” that Wanda could be returning this December.

The design feels familiar for a reason. One of Marvel’s recent premium format posters for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, the Infinity Vision version, shows Doom standing victorious inside a stained-glass window.
Putting Wanda and Strange in front of a similar green mural suggests Disney may be tying their story to Doom’s world. Still, artwork on a streaming page doesn’t confirm that either character will appear in the film.

The update comes just as another possible hint is circulating. Jennifer White, who has worked as Olsen’s stunt double and movement coach for the Scarlet Witch role, recently reposted the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ ScreenX poster featuring Doom’s Latverian Witches to her Instagram Story.
Those masked witches have become one of the biggest mysteries of Marvel’s campaign. Fans have suggested Wanda could be hiding beneath one of the hoods, while other theories point to Charlize Theron’s Clea or Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie.

Olsen was not named in Marvel’s official ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ cast announcement in March 2025. She has said she’s proud of her work as Wanda but doesn’t know if or when she’ll return to the role.
Wanda was last seen at the end of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, where she sacrificed herself. Director Joe Russo has given only a vague answer when asked about Olsen’s involvement, keeping the door open without confirming anything.

Cumberbatch’s situation is similar. ComicBookMovie noted that he is rumored to play a key role in both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, but he remains one of the notable names missing from the official cast list.
With the final trailer expected in mid-November, Marvel may reveal more before the film opens. Until then, a refreshed Disney+ title card is giving fans one more reason to rewatch Wanda and Strange’s last adventure.
