Disney+ Reveals Which Marvel Movies and Shows To Watch Before ‘VisionQuest’
Few Marvel characters have had a journey as winding as Paul Bettany’s Vision, and Disney+ is making sure fans are caught up before his next chapter. ‘VisionQuest’, the final installment in the ‘WandaVision’ trilogy, finally reveals what happened to the character after the events of ‘WandaVision’.
The series brings back White Vision, the rebuilt version of the character introduced in the ‘WandaVision’ finale, and pits him against James Spader’s Ultron. Spader returns to the role nearly a decade after last appearing in the MCU, setting up a father-and-son dynamic that sits at the heart of the new show.
Now Disney+ has revealed 8 projects it recommends watching before diving into ‘VisionQuest’. The list includes ‘Iron Man’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along’.
That’s notably longer than the guide Marvel Studios shared earlier this month. In a promo released ahead of the premiere, the studio highlighted only 4 titles: ‘Age of Ultron’, ‘Civil War’, ‘Infinity War’ and ‘WandaVision’.
The biggest difference between the 2 lists is the inclusion of ‘Agatha All Along’. Its absence from Marvel’s original promo surprised many fans, since it serves as the second chapter of the trilogy.
The series revealed Joe Locke’s character as Billy Maximoff and ended with Tommy’s soul finding a new body. ‘VisionQuest’ picks up that thread, with Ruaridh Mollica playing Thomas Shepherd.
Disney+ has revealed 8 projects to watch before ‘VISIONQUEST’: • ‘Iron Man’ • ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ • ‘Avengers: Civil War’ • ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ • ‘Avengers: Endgame’ • ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ • ‘WandaVision’ • ‘Agatha All Along’ https://t.co/akDqT7KP3u

Several of the films on the list tie into the show’s focus on artificial intelligence. ‘Age of Ultron’ is a natural starting point, since it introduced both Vision and Ultron, along with F.R.I.D.A.Y., who also appears in the new series.
‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ earns its spot largely because of E.D.I.T.H., the AI that Emily Hampshire plays in ‘VisionQuest’. The cast also features James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., and Diane Morgan in an undisclosed role.
The remaining films trace the defining moments of Vision’s MCU journey. ‘Civil War’ deepened his bond with Wanda, while ‘Infinity War’ made him a target for Thanos because of the Mind Stone in his head, leading to his tragic death.

‘Endgame’ rounds out the Avengers run on the list. ‘WandaVision’ remains the most essential watch of all, thanks to its sitcom reality and the finale’s Ship of Theseus debate that set up White Vision.
For anyone who wants to go even deeper, there’s more source material to explore. Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta’s 2015 comic miniseries ‘The Vision’ laid the groundwork for both ‘WandaVision’ and ‘VisionQuest’.
Marvel has also made it easier for newcomers to jump in. Ahead of the premiere, the studio released the first 3 episodes of ‘WandaVision’ for free on YouTube. ‘VisionQuest’ runs for 8 episodes, including feature-length final chapters. Along the way, Vision must resist Ultron’s influence and confront the AI personalities embedded in his programming.
The series premiered on Disney+ on October 14. For viewers short on time, many guides suggest starting with ‘WandaVision’ and adding ‘Age of Ultron’, ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Agatha All Along’ if possible.
Whether fans tackle the full list or stick to the essentials, there’s no shortage of ways to prepare. The expanded Disney+ list offers a more complete picture of Vision’s legacy, from the earliest days of the MCU to the end of the ‘WandaVision’ trilogy.
