Doctor Doom Takes Over the Concession Stand With New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Popcorn Bucket and Cup in Spain
Collectible popcorn buckets have become a full-blown phenomenon. The trend exploded in 2024 with the viral sandworm bucket for ‘Dune: Part Two’, and Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman added fuel with their deliberately cheeky Wolverine-head bucket for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’.
Marvel has embraced the craze ever since. ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ got a collapsible shield tub, ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ had a giant Galactus head and a Mister Fantastic bucket, and the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ re-release came with a Nano Gauntlet container sold through Regal.
Now the MCU’s biggest villain is getting the same treatment overseas. Spanish theater chain Cine Yelmo has revealed its own Doctor Doom popcorn bucket and cup for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is being released in Spain as ‘Vengadores: Doomsday’.
The Cine Yelmo bucket is a sculpted Doctor Doom bust, showing the villain from his hood down to his waist. It includes his silver mask, green tunic, chains, and armored arms crossed in front of him.
The matching cup is shaped like Doom’s iconic hooded metal mask, set against the same green, crackling energy seen in the promotional art. The posters encourage moviegoers to grab both the bucket and the cup at Cine Yelmo locations.

Spain’s versions are not the only Doom collectibles. In the US, Cinemark is offering a different set, with a bucket sculpted as Doom’s hooded mask with glowing green eyes. Cinemark’s drink cup shows Doom seated on his Latverian throne, with the cup designed to look like the stone walls of his throne room. A green glow shines through the gap behind the throne, and the Avengers “A” appears on top.

The first look at a full-body Doom bucket surfaced online on September 27. Further theater merchandise, along with new Pop Mart figures featuring multiple versions of Doom, has continued to roll out since then.
Marvel has made Doctor Doom the center of the campaign. On September 25, Robert Downey Jr., who plays Doom, shared a poster for the ‘Endgame’ re-release showing the villain in a theater seat holding the red Nano Gauntlet full of popcorn, with the line “Doom Shall Attend.”
The Russo Brothers also joined in, joking in the comments about Doom’s missing Raisinets. In an interview with Fandango, the directors described Doom as more Machiavellian and manipulative than Thanos.
Some observers have noted that Marvel is now selling Doom the way it once sold Thanos, as the event itself. Pricing for the Cine Yelmo collectibles has not been announced. In the US, recent Marvel buckets have generally cost between $30 and $50, often sold alongside special screenings or presales.

Fans should expect high demand. Elaborate buckets for major releases have often sold out quickly, and many end up on resale sites. Reactions to the Doom merchandise have been enthusiastic.
Some fans said they need the Doom head right away, while others joked that scooping popcorn out of Doom’s head might be the only way anyone defeats him. With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arriving in theaters on December 18 as the fifth film in the Avengers series, the race to collect every version of Doom is just getting started.
Which Doctor Doom collectible would you rather get for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?
