Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye series concluded 2021 for Marvel fans. 2021 was a pretty strong year for Marvel and looks like 2022 won’t be far behind. Earlier today we got the confirmation that the Moon Knight series will premiere on March 30, and of course, we are patiently waiting for May 6, when the anticipated movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to hit theaters.
The movie was first announced in July 2019, and although it changed release dates, and even a director, the sequel to Doctor Strange’s 2016 original movie is still one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Director of Spider-Man trilogy Sam Raimi is helming the project, and Benedict Cumberbatch is set to return in the titular role. One more big name that will also take part in this movie is Elizabeth Olsen, who will return as Scarlet Witch, following the WandaVision series that aired on Disney+ in early 2021.
Elizabeth Olsen debuted as Wanda Maximoff in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Although it was known she’s Scarlet Witch, she was never called that until the WandaVision series, in which her transformation to Scarlet Witch was completed thanks to the series’ villain Agatha Harkness. The WandaVision finale gave also gave the amazing new suit, and the post-credit scene teased her role in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The official teaser of the movie was released shortly after the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home (it was actually its post-credit scene). And now we got a new concept art which is showing us Olsen in her full Scarlet Witch mode.
Directed by Sam Raimi, and also starring Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Xochitl Gomez, Doctor Strange in the Mutiverse of Madness is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
