Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Post-Credit Scenes Explained
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now out, and there we are once again treated to the magical side of the MCU where Doctor Stephen Strange is in his darkest adventure yet. This time, he is taken on a ride across the multiverse as Strange seeks to protect a mysterious girl from a person familiar to him.
Of course, like any other Marvel Studios movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness treats fans to post-credit scenes that open up the future of the Doctor Strange movie series to more possibilities. In that regard, let’s look at what happened in the post-credit scenes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
How Many Post-Credit Scenes Does Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Have?
One of the staples among the many different MCU movies we have is the post-credit scene. This involves scenes after the credits as the scene seeks to tease the audience about the future of the characters in the movie and how they will be involved in future installments of the movie franchise or even the MCU as a whole.
Of course, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the newest movie in the Doctor Strange film series, has its post-credit scene as well. However, how many post-credit scenes does Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has two post-credit scenes. The first is, of course, the mid-credit scene that happens right after the mid-credits. Meanwhile, the final scene is right after the end-credit. That means that you may want to wait until the end of the end-credit if you really want to see all of the post-credit scenes.
What Happened In The Post-Credit Scenes Of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness?
Like a lot of different Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the post-credits scenes are there to shed some light on the possible future of the movie franchise and how the characters will play a role in the greater MCU. There are some scenes that tend to be a bit conservative in their approach by not giving a lot of details. However, some scenes do show a lot of details regarding the character’s future. So, what happened in the post-credit scenes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
The first post-credit scene involves Doctor Strange walking the streets of New York right after the revelation of his third eye at the end of the movie. It seems like a normal day for a master of the mystic arts, but a blonde-haired woman dressed in flashy clothes suddenly calls out his name. This woman tells him that he had caused an incursion and then cuts open a portal while inviting Doctor Strange on an adventure to stop this incursion from happening.
It was explained by the Reed Richards of universe-838 that an incursion is when someone messes up with the events of another universe, thereby causing two different universes to collide with one another to ultimately cause the destruction of these universes. He said that the Doctor Strange of their universe caused an incursion when he used the power of the Darkhold to dreamwalk in other universes in an attempt to find a way to stop the Thanos of universe-838.
The fact that universe-838 Doctor Strange caused the deaths of trillions of lives in other universes is what ultimately forced the Illuminati to execute him on the spot after defeating Thanos while also fabricating a story that he was the hero responsible for defeating the Mad Titan by sacrificing his life.
Going back, this incursion could be a result of Doctor Strange meddling with some of the other universes that he traveled to when he and America Chavez were moving from one universe to another. It could be possible that the incursion is happening in universe-838 because that was the universe he spent more time in than any of the other universes he went to. But it could also be possible that this incursion could be happening elsewhere.
Nevertheless, the mid-credit scene opens up the possibility of what Doctor Strange’s next adventure is in the future, especially when he now has a new ally (and potential love interest) by his side.
Meanwhile, the second post-credit scene, which is the end-credit scene, is more of a joke. Back in the events of the film, Doctor Strange had an encounter with a pizza ball vendor played by Bruce Campbell. The vendor tried to take matters into his own hands when America didn’t pay for the pizza balls, and that was when Strange used a spell that caused the vendor to harm himself for three weeks.
The end-credit scene goes back to the scene of the vendor harming himself as the spell wears off. Campbell then tells the audience that it’s all over, as he was basically saying two things. The first is that the spell’s effects are now over. Meanwhile, the second is that the movie is now over.
In that regard, the end-credit scene is more of Bruce Campbell’s character trolling Marvel fans who waited for the end-credits to finish up before leaving the cinema. It really doesn’t matter in the greater scheme of things in the MCU.
Who Was The Woman In The First Post-Credit Scene Of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness?
As mentioned, the mid-credit scene involves a blonde woman who appeared to tell Strange that he had caused an incursion and that they needed to stop it. So, who is this blonde woman in the post-credit scene of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?
This woman is Clea the Sorceress. In the comics, Clea is a woman who lives in the Dark Realm and serves Dormammu. However, after she met Doctor Strange, she became curious about the human. This curiosity eventually turned into something more as Clea betrayed Dormammu and went on to become Doctor Strange’s newest love interest.
In that regard, Clea the Sorceress could be Strange’s newest love interest in the future, as his story with Christine Palmer had gone full circle after spending time with the universe-838 version of the character. And considering her relationship with Dormammu, we might even see the return of the powerful Dark Realm being, who was last seen in the first Doctor Strange movie.
