We all know that Record of Ragnarök involves a grand-scale tournament between gods and men to determine the fate of humanity, who the gods want to exterminate. In that regard, we’ve seen a lot of gods participating in the fight already. But while we’ve met a lot of gods, one of the gods that are yet to see any kind of action is Odin, who we know is the chief god of the Norse pantheon. So, does Odin fight in Record of Ragnarök?

Odin is yet to fight in Record of Ragnarök as he is not even close to seeing action in the first eight rounds in the manga and the anime. However, there is a good chance that Odin will fight somewhere down the line due to how almost all of the chief gods are involved in the Ragnarök tournament.

The fact that Odin is yet to fight is something that’s quite interesting because of how he has remained a mysterious and enigmatic figure throughout his time as a character in Record of Ragnarök. As a chief god, of course, Odin should be quite powerful and is going to surprise a lot of fans. So, with that said, let’s look at whether or not Odin will fight in Record of Ragnarök.

Does Odin Fight In Record Of Ragnarok?

It was never a secret that the Record of Ragnarök involves a tournament that was instituted to decide the fate of humanity because the gods wanted to exterminate humans, while the Valkyries still believe in humans so much that they are willing to defy the gods. Because of that, there were 13 gods and 13 humans selected by both sides to take part in 13 rounds of fights between one god and one man. And we’ve seen quite a lot of powerful gods at this point in the manga and anime.

Led by Zeus, who is one of the chief gods of the pantheons that were present in the Valhalla council in Record of Ragnarök, the gods have fielded their most powerful fighters and have also shown some of the most prominent chief gods of all of the different pantheons that we know in history. Zeus is obviously the chief god of the Greek pantheon, and we know that Shiva and Indra are some of the most important gods in the Hindu pantheon. But we also know that Odin is the All-Father of the Norse gods.

Despite the fact that a good part of the Record of Ragnarök was inspired by Norse mythology, the Norse gods haven’t played huge roles yet. The three most important gods that we’ve seen from the Norse pantheon are Odin, Loki, and Thor. So far, Thor has been the only one to see real action because he was the first god to fight in the Ragnarök tournament. Meanwhile, Loki has been more of a spectator that assesses each fight and looks at the outcome of the fights in a devious and sly way. So, what about Odin?

Ever since his introduction as a character, Odin has been quite stoic and silent, as he hardly talks or even shows emotions. He speaks through the two ravens that are standing on his shoulder. Of course, regardless of the things happening in the tournament, he doesn’t show the same kind of emotion as Zeus and the other important gods.

So far, Odin is yet to see any kind of action in Record of Ragnarök. In the manga, the fighters of the first eight rounds have already been revealed, and Odin is not one of them. Meanwhile, in the anime, we are just entering the sixth round. This means that Odin has not yet seen any action in the tournament and is yet to fight in Record of Ragnarök.

In fact, the closest that Odin showed any kind of action or emotion was when he and Zeus broke the fight between Buddha and the Shinto gods of fortune. After the other gods left, Odin released an aura of energy that scared his ravens, as it was clear that he was either angry or pumped up to take part in the tournament.

Will Odin Fight In The Future?

As mentioned, Odin is yet to see any kind of action in Record of Ragnarök, as he is yet to appear in the first eight rounds. Nevertheless, we know that there are 13 rounds in the Ragnarök tournament. So, will Odin fight in the future?

The fact that there are still five rounds left in the Ragnarök tournament implies that Odin will indeed fight in the future. Of course, the five remaining gods on the side of the gods are still unknown but we do believe that Odin is one of those gods. And that’s because most of the other important gods have already taken part in the tournament.

Zeus, for one, appeared as early as the second round because he was too excited. He was supposed to appear late in the tournament but ended up appearing quite early. Shiva appeared in the fifth round. In the sixth round, Buddha was supposed to represent the gods but ended up defecting to the humans because he disliked the other gods.

In that regard, some of the most important gods in history have already appeared in the tournament, as most of these gods are chief gods of their own pantheons. This implies that Odin, as a chief god and as the god associated with the Norse team of the tournament, will appear as a fighter at one point in the future.

Of course, the fact that Odin’s power has been kept a mystery should be quite interesting to see because there’s a good chance that his power level is so unbelievable that he is going to be one of the biggest threats to humanity. We’ve already seen just how strong Zeus is, as he was described to be one of the most powerful gods in the entire world. This makes us wonder just how strong Odin is due to the fact that he has remained a spectator through eight rounds.

As such, there is a good reason to believe that Odin is a secret weapon that the gods are looking to save for the later rounds, as he is one of the few remaining chief gods that are yet to see action. In fact, if we don’t count the Judeo-Christian god, Odin is the only chief god remaining from all of the most prominent religions and mythologies. That is why he might be the secret weapon of the gods in the Ragnarök tournament.
