As fans of the series will probably know, the Treasure Island Arc of Dr.STONE has reached its ending, which means that Senku and his friends will be heading to a new location, and that is – America! But, while the Americas are certainly going to be an important location in the future, there is a very specific reason why Senku actually wants to travel around the world, and it is connected to Why-man, the main villain of the series. In this article, we are going to address the happenings in the series and reveal why Senku set on another travel and why he needed to travel the world.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • After hearing Why-man’s signal that imitated his own voice, Senku managed to deduce that Why-man was located on the Moon, so he decided to go to the Moon.
  • He came up with a plan for going there, but with the limited technology he had at his disposal, it was impossible for him to build a functional vessel that could take them to the Moon.
  • Knowing that there are various resources around the world that could be useful, Senku and his friends set on a journey to the New World to collect what they needed to build a rocket.

Why-man’s signal made the Moon their priority

The source of Senku’s recent journey is actually an event that happened not long after Ibara’s defeat on Treasure Island when Senku and his allies were able to enjoy some time to rest and to repair the Perseus, which Ibara and his lackeys had damaged during the fights on Treasure Island. And just when it seemed that they would get that deserved rest, Why-man intervened. How? Let us see.

Namely, a signal son appeared, a signal in Senku’s voice, that tried to activate the petrification devices and petrify the whole world once again. The attempt failed, but Senku and his friends were presented with yet another mystery.

As we said, upon examining the signal, the heroes deduced that it was an effort to petrify the entire planet once more since the time and distance were given as one second and 12,800,000 meters, respectively. Senku and his allies discovered that the signal originated from the Moon, which greatly helped them identify its source. Of course, reaching the Moon was a very different story and required a far more taxing effort, but that was their objective, and ever since, Senku made it his mission to do so. You know what happens when Senku makes a decision to take action? He succeeds.

It became obvious that they would need a rocket, but… with the resources they had, they were completely unable to build anything that could even fly properly, let alone propel them to the Moon and back. But, Senku being Senku, he would – of course – not give up, and that is what brings us to the second section of this article. The travel around the world.

Why did Senku travel to North and South America? To find what he needed!

Realizing that Japan wouldn’t have what he needed to build a functional rocket, Senku deduced that he had to travel elsewhere. Despite the current state of the world, there were still numerous resources he could collect and then use – with his knowledge and skills – to actually construct something functional and useful. However, these resources were not available in Japan, so Senku surmised that they could be available elsewhere, and since the Americas were generally rich with resources, Senku deduced that the Americas had to be their next destination.

This also made sense from a historical perspective. Alongside the Soviet Union, the United States was the major space force throughout history. NASA’s technology was advanced, and despite the fact that the world was now more like a giant forest than civilization, the Americas were still a good place to look for resources and whatever remained of civilization’s technology at the time.

Plus, we know that there were depetrified people in the Americas, which meant that Senku could potentially get some help from their scientists, which is what ultimately happened, although Senku’s travels through North and South America were not without problems. We won’t be spoiling everything here – the principal point of this article was to explain why Senku actually had to leave his village after the Treasure Island Arc, i.e., why they had to go to the Americas. We have done that here and we can now conclude this article with that.
