Dragon Ball’s Future Secured: Producer Promises Decades of New Anime

‘Dragon Ball Daima‘ is wrapping up soon, but fans have nothing to worry about—the franchise is far from over! The producer behind the series has shared some exciting news: ‘Dragon Ball’ is here to stay for many years.
Dragon Ball Daima has been a thrilling new chapter, created to celebrate 40 years since the original ‘Dragon Ball’ manga first debuted. The anime takes place between the events of ‘Dragon Ball Z’ and ‘Dragon Ball Super,’ making it a perfect addition to the series’ timeline. While Daima is ending, it seems the journey isn’t stopping anytime soon.
In a recent interview with Mantan Web (translated by @Venixys on X), Dragon Ball executive producer Akio Iyoku spoke about the future of the series. Although there’s no official announcement for the next project just yet, Iyoku reassured fans that big things are coming.
“Producing anime and games takes time, but we’re steadily preparing for the future. We want to expand the franchise even further…There’s no doubt Dragon Ball will continue for decades to come.”
This is especially encouraging since many fans were uncertain about the franchise’s future after the passing of Akira Toriyama, the legendary creator of Dragon Ball. But according to Iyoku, the team is always planning ahead.
While details remain a mystery, Iyoku revealed that discussions and brainstorming are already happening behind the scenes.
“We’re still coming up with various plans, brainstorming many things and will keep moving forward. I want to continue giving it my all alongside [Goku voice actor Masako] Nozawa-san.”
Even Goku’s longtime voice actress, Masako Nozawa, is eager to continue. She recently received a special award at the 66th Mainichi Art Awards and expressed her dedication to the role in a humorous way:
“I don’t know how much longer I can do,” Nozawa stated, “but the age I’ve decided on is that I’d like to keep doing it until I’m 182 years old, so if you see me, I’d be happy if you would say, ‘Good luck!’”
Though Dragon Ball Daima is ending, the franchise is far from finished. With the team actively working on new ideas and long-term plans, fans can rest assured that Goku’s adventures will continue for many years to come!
