Ester Expósito Stuns in Pastel Pink as Her Whirlwind Year Rolls Into Netflix’s ‘La Regenta’
Ester Expósito has spent the past few years proving she’s far more than the breakout star of ‘Elite’. The Madrid-born actress, who became an international name as Carla Rosón Caleruega in the Netflix teen drama, has since taken on darker and more demanding work in projects like ‘Venus’, ‘The Wailing’, ‘The Talent’ and the Netflix action series ‘Bandidos’.
This year has been one of her biggest yet. Expósito received the Golden Nymph Award for Most Promising Talent at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and earlier this month she was in the French capital to attend the Messika Spring/Summer 2027 show at Le Grand Palais during Paris Fashion Week.
Now the actress is drawing fresh attention online. New photos shared by Cine Archives, captioned with a nod to Paris, show Expósito posing at golden hour against a stone balustrade, with palm trees and a pool behind her.
She wears a fitted pale pink dress with long sleeves, an off-the-shoulder neckline, and bold waist cutouts, finished with small heart-shaped hardware at the sides. Her hair is swept back, and her makeup is kept soft, letting the dress and the warm evening light take center stage.

It’s a romantic, polished look that fits neatly into the wave of fashion moments she has shared throughout the year. Expósito’s screen work has kept pace with her style moments. Her film ‘Dante’, directed by Hugo Ruiz, premiered at the Tribeca Festival in June, marking her first film festival in the United States. In it, she plays Maki, a role that let her go completely against type, complete with a wig and a scar.
She also led Prime Video’s ‘Drawn Together’, the adaptation of Mercedes Ron’s bestselling novel ‘Marfil’, starring opposite Hugo Diego García. Expósito plays ballerina Marfil Cortés in the film, which launched globally on September 9, and a sequel, ‘Drawn Apart’, has already been announced.
The timing of these photos is fitting, as Expósito has just stepped into one of her most ambitious roles yet. Variety reported exclusively that Netflix’s feature adaptation of Clarín’s classic novel ‘La Regenta’ went into production on October 23, with Expósito starring in the title role.
The film is directed by Locarno winner Mar Coll and produced by María Zamora at Elastica Films, the company behind ‘Alcarràs’ and ‘Romería’. It promises a fresh female perspective on one of Spain’s biggest literary classics.
The cast also includes International Emmy winner Oriol Pla as Magistral Fermín de Pas, Vito Sanz as Victor Quintanar and Borja Luna as Álvaro Mesía. Coll co-wrote the script with Anna R. Costa and Peruvian filmmaker Diego Vega.
Between festival premieres, streaming releases, fashion week appearances, and a prestige Netflix period drama, Expósito is clearly entering a new phase of her career. Her move from teen drama to classic literature signals a deliberate push toward richer, more complex roles.
For fans who first met her in ‘Elite’, her latest photos are a reminder of the star power that made her a breakout in the first place. Her upcoming projects suggest the best may still be ahead.
