‘Euphoria’ Star Sydney Sweeney Goes Fully Nude for a Wild New Novig Sports Betting Ad
Sydney Sweeney has found another way to get people talking, and this time she is doing it through sports. The Euphoria star is the face of a new campaign for Novig, a sports prediction platform that is trying to separate itself from other prediction markets. The commercial is playful, flashy and intentionally provocative, with Sweeney appearing nude while surrounded by sports equipment and making it clear that Novig wants to keep its attention on games rather than politics or other controversial topics.
The campaign was detailed by Variety, which reports that Sweeney has taken on more than just an acting role in the project. She has also become a strategic partner and equity holder in Novig, giving her a business connection to the company as well as a starring role in its latest advertising push. It is another major brand move for Sweeney, who has become increasingly comfortable using bold campaigns to build her public image outside of her film and television work.
The commercial starts with Sweeney explaining the basic idea behind Novig while using sports equipment as part of the visual joke. She appears with basketballs, footballs and other gear before the ad moves through a series of different sports. At one point, she says, “Think you know sports? Prove it. Novig is just sports. So they wanted to show just sports.” The message is simple, but the way the campaign presents it is designed to grab attention immediately.
Sweeney also spoke about the idea behind the campaign in a statement reported by Variety. “The campaign was about embracing a fun idea,” she said. “The concept is simple: cut through the noise and put the focus entirely on sports. The campaign brings that idea to life with confidence, humor and a playful edge.” That description fits the commercial, which keeps switching between sports imagery and jokes while Sweeney remains at the center of almost every scene.
The ad uses equipment from several different sports to keep the visuals moving. Sweeney appears wearing a hockey goalie mask, football pads and a baseball catcher’s helmet, among other pieces of gear. She also poses around basketball hoops and sports balls before eventually ending up at a pool table. After breaking a rack of billiard balls, she looks toward the camera and jokes, “You can’t trade this. I just look good here.” The line sums up the campaign’s approach, which is clearly meant to be funny and memorable rather than a standard serious betting commercial.
Novig is also trying to make its identity clear in a crowded prediction market space. According to Variety, the company launched nationwide last month under a federally regulated system and is designed for users who are at least 21 years old. Unlike broader platforms that allow predictions involving many different subjects, Novig is putting sports at the center of its service.
That point becomes even more obvious later in the commercial. Sweeney tells viewers there is “no betting on wars or deaths and no politics,” before adding, “Just you, your takes and sports.” Novig co-founder and CEO Jacob Fortinsky said the company believes sports fans deserve a prediction market built specifically around their interests. He also praised Sweeney for helping the brand deliver that message in a way that would stand out.
The campaign follows several other attention-grabbing projects from Sweeney. Earlier this year, she launched her lingerie brand Syrn and appeared in a number of provocative promotions for it. She also became part of a much-discussed American Eagle jeans campaign that sparked online debate over its “good genes” theme. Her Novig appearance continues a pattern of advertising that relies heavily on Sweeney’s star power and willingness to take a playful approach.
Sweeney has plenty happening outside of advertising as well. She is returning for The Housemaid’s Secret after the success of The Housemaid and also has Netflix’s Gundam movie and StudioCanal’s The Custom of the Country in her upcoming lineup. For now, though, her latest Novig campaign is giving her another viral-looking moment, proving that when Sweeney teams up with a brand, the internet is likely to notice.
