Welcome to the Ending Explained for Eva Lasting, a new Colombian TV series arriving on Netflix this week. The series tells the story of Camillo, a high schooler who gets to meet Eva, a mysterious and beautiful new student. Obviously, Camillo falls in love with Eva, and together they start a romantic and crazy love. The series is a pretty basic coming-of-age story located in the heart of Colombia in the 1970s. There are tons of references to that time, which might make the series a bit niche in terms of the audience it might attract.

The series also has this very strange tone where everything seems to be taken as a joke or is not taken seriously enough, even when the situations are quite serious. It makes the story feel fake, as not many of the characters respond to these situations appropriately. There is also a very annoying narration running through the episodes, telling us stuff that could very well have been transmitted through the acting or dialogue. Instead, the narrator believes that it is doing a good job of explaining the feelings and thoughts of the main character.

The following paragraphs contain spoilers for Eva Lasting. Read at your own risk.

How Do Camillo And Eva Meet Each Other?

The series mainly focuses on the characters of Camillo and Eva and how their relationship disturbs the routine the people around them are used to. Camillo is a very shy boy studying in his last year of high school. He has a group of friends with whom he is very close, mainly because the school where they study is a school for only male students. However, the world is changing, and the school is now opening its doors to female students. When one finally arrives, all the boys get struck by lightning.

The girl’s name is Eva; she is harsh but smart, and she can insult you without you even noticing. She is also very well-read, always quoting books and movies as examples when she needs to explain something or make her arguments more valid. She is the most beautiful woman these boys have ever seen, and after she gives them all of them their first kiss, the entire group falls fully in love with her. Some in the group believe she will only bring trouble to them, but Eva wins a place in the group thanks to her beauty and intelligence.

However, she has taken a liking to Camillo. Maybe, it is because he is easier for her to manipulate, or maybe she really likes him. The season ends without us being sure about this last point. But what matters is that they get closer and closer, and at one point, Camillo starts changing the things he does and how he looks as a way to impress Eva. Eva is more than what it seems, though. Soon it becomes clear that Eva is hiding something. When the reality is revealed, we are told Eva is escaping from her dad, who wants to take her to the USA.

Do Camillo And Eva End Up Together?

Eva’s father has been after her for a while. This is why she chose an all-male school, as she was sure her father would look for her in female schools first. Her plan blows as his father’s men get closer and closer to her and Camillo. Camillo is ready to protect Eva no matter what, and this motivation clashes with his father’s intuition. Camillo’s father has always thought that Eva is a bad influence and that she is up to no good. After a heated discussion, Camillo’s father tells him he should leave the house if he does not obey him.
