‘Extrapolations’ Star Tobey Maguire Officiates Ex-Wife Jennifer Meyer’s Wedding to Billionaire Heir Geoffrey Ogunlesi

Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer have long been held up as one of Hollywood’s most amicable exes. The pair met in 2003, married in Kona, Hawaii, in 2007, and announced their separation in October 2016 after 9 years of marriage.

Even after the split, they remained close co-parents to their children, Ruby and Otis. Meyer once described their divorce as the most beautiful experience of her life on ‘The World’s First Podcast’, saying she would do anything for Maguire and that they have a beautiful family.

Now, the former couple has taken that friendship to a whole new level. On Saturday, October 10, Maguire officiated Meyer’s wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi in Hawaii. The ceremony took place at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, according to Page Six. Photos obtained by People show the ‘Spider-Man’ star standing beside the couple with his hand raised as they shared a kiss.

The timing made the moment even more remarkable. Maguire and Meyer only finalized their divorce on September 21, nearly 10 years after they first separated. Meyer, 49, wore a strapless white wedding dress with a veil, while Ogunlesi wore a black suit and bow tie. Maguire, 51, looked sharp in a dark suit as he led the ceremony.

The wedding was a family affair. Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17, were in attendance, along with the baby girl Meyer welcomed with Ogunlesi earlier this year. The destination celebration also drew plenty of famous faces. Courteney Cox, Rachel Zoe, Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, and Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos were reportedly among the guests.

Ogunlesi is the founder and CEO of The Ogunlesi Group, a Los Angeles-based entertainment and music management company. He is the son of Nigerian billionaire Adebayo Ogunlesi, a lawyer and investment banker who co-founded the private equity firm Global Infrastructure Partners.

Meyer and Ogunlesi began dating in the summer of 2023. They made their red carpet debut that November at the Baby2Baby Gala, where Meyer serves as a board member. Ogunlesi proposed in 2024 with an emerald-cut diamond ring, and Meyer shared the news on Instagram. Celebrity friends including Jennifer Garner, Goldie Hawn, Rachel Bilson and Kelly Rowland flooded her comments with congratulations.

Not everyone was sold on the unconventional choice of officiant. Some social media users said they could never imagine having an ex lead their wedding vows, calling it awkward.

Others defended the arrangement, pointing out that Maguire was clearly invited and that the family’s close bond is something to admire. For many, the moment showed just how healthy their co-parenting relationship has remained.

Meyer has spoken warmly about Maguire many times over the years. In a past Father’s Day tribute on Instagram, she praised him as a loyal, loving, and generous partner in raising their children.

Meyer is also known as a successful jewelry designer whose pieces have been worn by stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson. With her new marriage and growing family, she is now beginning an exciting new chapter.

With Maguire standing by her side at the altar, the wedding became a striking example of how a family can evolve after divorce. For Meyer and Ogunlesi, it was the perfect start to married life surrounded by the people they love most.
