Fans Rank the Top 10 Strongest MCU Characters

The MCU is currently the biggest cinematic universe ever, with 33 movies and dozens of live-action shows. It has introduced hundreds of characters, ranging from humans to gods and strange creatures. Some characters protect the Earth from evil forces, while others seek to plunge it into chaos.
Judging the overall strength and powers of these characters is tricky since it depends on the situation and how they use their abilities. To get a clearer picture, we turned to Ranker, where nearly 7,000 fans voted for who they think is the most powerful character in the MCU. Here are the results.
10. Vision
I was surprised to see Vision ranked so high on the list, while his creator didn’t even make the top 15. But it makes sense. Vision was created by the Mind Stone, and characters with powers from the Infinity Stones tend to rank really high.
Vision can casually lift Mjolnir and has unique abilities like body manipulation and controlling his density and strength.
9. Ancient One
The Ancient One has a lot going for her, but it’s her complete mastery of the mystic arts that secured her spot on this list. Her greatest feat is arguably the fact that her mere presence on Earth was so intimidating that it deterred numerous threats.
8. Hulk
In the comics, Hulk is probably the most physically powerful character, but his MCU version is noticeably weaker, especially with the introduction of Professor Hulk. Despite this, Hulk still made it onto the list. His biggest achievement is likely wielding the Infinity Gauntlet and surviving it.
7. Captain Marvel
Like Vision, Captain Marvel gained her powers from an Infinity Stone—specifically, the Space Stone. The accident that gave her powers initially killed her, but the Kree intervened, transforming her into one of the MCU’s most powerful characters. Carol is at her strongest in her binary form, with her biggest feats including facing Thanos head-on and, more recently, re-igniting Hala’s sun.
6. Odin
Odin didn’t have much opportunity to showcase his powers in the MCU, but it’s safe to assume that the Odinforce is as powerful as it is in the comics. Odin’s greatest feat was stripping Thor of all his powers and abilities with a single thought.
5. Thanos
Obviously, we’re talking about Thanos without the Infinity Gauntlet. While MCU Thanos is significantly weaker than his comic counterpart, the fact that he wielded the Infinity Gauntlet twice speaks volumes about his mental and physical strength. He channeled unimaginable amounts of raw power through himself.
4. Hela
Hela definitely proved herself to be one of the most dangerous and powerful villains in the MCU. She is theoretically unstoppable, and I’m glad the movie did her justice. Her greatest feat is undoubtedly destroying Mjolnir.
3. Thor
Thor’s inclusion on this list is no surprise. His godly heritage, powerful weapons, and Asgardian magic make him a formidable force of nature. While there are countless impressive feats to his name, two standout moments are coming the closest to physically killing Thanos and cutting through the Infinity Gauntlet blast.
2. Scarlet Witch
Fans widely regard Wanda as one of the most powerful character in the MCU, or at least she was until she was tragically killed by debris. Her ability to alter probabilities, essentially manipulating reality, sets her apart. Wanda’s greatest achievement is standing up to Thanos, not once, but twice.
1. Doctor Strange
The enigmatic Doctor Strange. Like his predecessor, the Ancient One, Stephen is a master of mystical arts, despite being born a regular human. This seemingly ordinary human stood up to Thanos and trapped an extra-dimensional dark god in a time loop. He also erased memories of Spider-Man and glimpsed millions of futures. His powers have incredible potential due to their overwhelming nature.
