With the tenth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, officially titled Fast X, in production, a lot of new information about the movie is surfacing. The franchise’s producer and lead star Vin Diesel is sharing new images and videos on his Instagram account almost daily.
And now, Diesel shared the first look at Brie Larson, who joined the franchise in an undisclosed role. It’s not known if she’ll play an ally or a villain. Although, an ally seems more likely since the image and description that Diesel shared is teasing that Larson’s character seems like a good friend to the family, and the movie already has Charlize Theron and Jason Momoa, who are both confirmed for the villainous roles.
“There are some people you will meet in life…. That will change you, change your family… change the world, FOREVER! #FastX” — Vin Diesel
Brie Larson is best known for her role in Room, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Since 2019, she’s been playing the role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which Vin Diesel also stars in the voice role of Groot. Larson expressed her interest in joining the franchise earlier this year, and her casting was confirmed last month.
Larson is only one of the newcomers in the upcoming tenth installment of the franchise. Aquaman star Jason Momoa, The Suicide Squad Daniela Melchior, and Titans star Alan Ritchson also joined the franchise in undisclosed roles, with Momoa confirmed to play the villain. Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Scott Eastwood, and Charlize Theron are all returning to reprise their roles from previous movies in the franchise.
Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X is set to be released on May 19, 2023.
