The CBS procedural ‘FBI’ is set to return on Monday, October 26 with a new installment titled “Reticence.” CBS lists the episode with an airdate of October 26 as part of its ninth season run. The season itself kicked off on Monday, October 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Anyone tracking the ‘FBI’ release date and time will find a familiar slot, while the preview points to a case that ties a missing infant to a string of murders. The episode also appears to bring OA back to working cases alongside Maggie after his undercover assignment.

Release Date for the Next ‘FBI’ Episode

“Reticence” is scheduled to air on October 26. That makes it the fourth installment of the season, and it arrives one week after the previous episode.

“White Rock” airs on October 19 and finds the team pulling out all the stops to move against Anna Vorpe and her seemingly impervious Strike Team. The outcome of that confrontation may shape the mood heading into the following week.

An episode guide lists a further new episode for November 2, which suggests the series is settling into a run of consecutive Monday broadcasts.

Air Time on CBS

‘FBI’ airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. That works out to 7 p.m. Central. Viewers in other regions should check their local CBS listings.

The drama moved up an hour this season compared to last year. Longtime viewers who are used to the later slot will want to adjust their routines.

The spinoff ‘CIA’ follows at 9 p.m., giving the network a back to back pairing on Monday nights.

Where to Watch the New Episode

The episode airs live on CBS. It also streams on Paramount+, live and on demand for Premium plan subscribers, or on demand for Essential plan subscribers.

Reports on the exact timing for Essential members differ slightly. One outlet noted that for the previous episode, Essential members could watch on demand a day after its linear debut.

Viewers who need to catch up before the new case can look back at the earlier chapters. “Rendition” aired on October 5 and “Omissions” followed on October 12.

Preview of “Reticence”

CBS describes the episode as one where the team investigates a missing infant and a string of murders as it all connects to a rocket propulsion company on the verge of going public. It is a case with corporate stakes, which gives the hour a different texture from the season’s larger Strike Team storyline.

First look photos show OA back in his regular suit next to Maggie, which seems to be his first case back with the team, along with Maggie working with her new partner Isaiah. OA was fired in the season eight finale, only for it to be revealed as part of a plan with Maggie and Isobel Castille to put him in position to join Anna’s unit.

Showrunner Mike Weiss told TV Insider that the central question of OA’s undercover arc is how a beloved character stays himself while surrounded by bad people. The episode was written by Bryce Ahart and Stephanie McFarlane.

Missy Peregrym, Jeremy Sisto, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd and Juliana Aidén Martinez round out the main cast, while Roland Buck III plays Isaiah. Fans who have followed OA through his undercover run may want to tell us in the comments whether his return to Maggie’s side in “Reticence” feels earned or too soon, and where that leaves Isaiah in the partnership.
