Feige Discloses Educating Coworkers on ‘Pegging’ Due to ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’
We’re just a few weeks away from ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ The movie is generating significant buzz for being the MCU’s first “R” rated film. Trailers have already teased plenty of violence and adult language.
Recently, it was revealed that nearly everything is fair game for “R” rated content in the film, except drugs, which Feige clarified are permitted but not deemed particularly humorous in his view.
In a recent interview, Feige addressed the topic of “pegging,” frequently referenced in the Deadpool franchise. He surprised us by mentioning that he had to explain its meaning to some team members who were unfamiliar with it.
There’s a line in the red-band trailer — you don’t have to write this in the article, for crying out loud! — about pegging. I know what pegging is — it’s in the first ‘Deadpool’ movie. But there were people I work with who didn’t know what it was. I had to explain it to them.
I won’t delve into the definition of pegging here, as that’s not our focus, and you’re likely already familiar with it. Nevertheless, it’s noteworthy to see such references associated with the Disney brand.
While traditionally family-oriented, the MCU is adapting to include more mature content, as evidenced by recent developments. ‘Echo’ marked the first R-rated MCU series, paving the way for upcoming projects like the animated show ‘Marvel Zombies.’
For those team members unaware of pegging, that must have sparked quite an unexpected workplace conversation.
