Marvel Studios has several projects lined up for release in 2024. While live-action releases are sparse, there’s plenty of animated content to anticipate. One of the earliest releases is ‘X-Men ’97,’ slated for March 20, 2024.

This marks Marvel Studios’ return to the X-Men franchise since regaining the rights from 20th Century Fox. The pressure is high, given the dedicated fanbase of the franchise. The decision to fast-track the revival is influenced by the original series’ success on Disney+ and the popularity of ‘X-Men: The Art and Making of The Animated Series’ book. Although not part of the MCU, ‘X-Men ’97’ continues the storylines from the original series, with potential connections to the MCU.

The first clip of the show has been unveiled by Rotten Tomatoes, and it looks fantastic.

The show reportedly picks up just one day after the events of the original series but promises a grittier tone with more vulnerable characters and mature dialogues. The clip release follows the unexpected departure of the show’s creator, Beau DeMayo, for reasons that are currently undisclosed. Despite this, a second season has already been confirmed even before the release of the first season.
