The world premiere of Jurassic World Rebirth took place last night in London, and the first reactions from social media are already rolling in. Fans and critics alike seem excited, praising the film’s thrilling action, stunning visuals, and especially the dinosaurs. Many have shared how the movie brings back the excitement and fear that made the original films so memorable.

The new film is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey. It acts as a standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion and continues the story five years after the events of that movie.

In this new chapter, dinosaurs struggle to survive in a world that is no longer kind to them, living in isolated tropical spots.

The story follows a team on a secret mission to a remote island, where they hope to find prehistoric creatures whose DNA could help create life-saving medicine. But things quickly get dangerous when they discover mutated, failed dinosaur experiments, including a terrifying new villain: Distortus rex, a six-limbed, deformed T. rex.

The movie also introduces other strange hybrid creatures, like the flying Mutadons—a mix between pterosaurs and Velociraptors. Writer David Koepp explained that these mutants are early failed experiments by the fictional company InGen.

He said the idea came from watching a bat on his porch. The Mutadons went through many changes during development, sometimes shown with multiple heads or unusual limbs.

Fans will also see the return of some familiar dinosaurs like the Spinosaurus, which appeared in Jurassic Park III. This version has been redesigned to reflect recent science showing the dinosaur was semi-aquatic, with stronger legs, webbed feet, and a powerful tail. Vickery explained that the team studied crocodiles and bears to create realistic movements. Other classic dinosaurs like the Ankylosaurus, Carnotaurus, and Velociraptor also appear, with new designs to set them apart from past films.

Some new species make their debut too, such as Titanosaurus and Diabloceratops. The film features an adorable little pterosaur called Aquilops, brought to life with detailed animatronics that mimic breathing, blinking, and tail movements. These puppets use lightweight 3D-printed parts and are operated remotely, allowing close-up interactions with the actors on set.

The movie was filmed in Thailand, Malta, and the UK during the summer of 2024. Joe Koepp, who co-wrote the original Jurassic Park films, returned to write the script for Rebirth. The film premiered at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on June 17, 2025, and will hit US theaters on July 2, 2025.

Overall, early reactions show Jurassic World Rebirth is a thrilling and beautiful addition to the franchise. Fans have enjoyed the return to a more classic feel, with dinosaurs that are both awe-inspiring and frightening. The mix of action, story, and impressive visuals seems to capture the spirit of the original movies, while adding fresh twists that keep the adventure exciting.

The new film brings back the wonder and danger of the dinosaur world, making it a must-watch for both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
