DC Studios has a packed schedule ahead. Along with the projects announced for DCU’s Chapter 1: Gods & Monsters, they’re also working on other projects, like an animated movie about two Robins called Dynamic Duo and a live-action Teen Titans movie.
Recently, rumors started spreading online that a Sgt. Rock movie is in the works, with Luca Guadagnino as the director.
Sgt. Franklin Rock, created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert in 1959, is a member of the Easy Company, a World War II unit fighting in Europe. Since the 1980s, there have been multiple attempts to bring the character to the big screen, with actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis once considered for the role.
So far, his only live-action appearance was in Legends of Tomorrow, where he was played by Blair Penner.
Now, a popular insider known as Apocalyptic Horseman on X claims that former James Bond star Daniel Craig is being rumored to play Sgt. Franklin Rock in a new movie.
These rumors can’t be confirmed yet since the movie is still just a rumor. It’s a bit odd because other rumored projects, like the Teen Titans movie, were later confirmed by James Gunn.
Also, if Sgt. Rock shows up in Creature Commandos, Daniel Craig might not play the live-action version. Gunn has said he wants the same actors to play their roles in both animated and live-action projects, as one fan mentioned in the comments of the original post.
