‘Free Guy’ Star Jodie Comer Turns up the Heat in a Backless Scarlet Givenchy Halter in Paris
Few stars have built a fashion partnership as quietly consistent as Jodie Comer and Givenchy. The ‘Killing Eve’ actress attended the label’s spring 2026 show in Paris last October, wore a Givenchy leather wrap midi dress to The Fashion Awards in December, and chose a Givenchy fall 2026 dress for the New York premiere of ‘The Death of Robin Hood’ in June.
That loyalty runs deeper than red carpets. Fashion watchers have noted her growing relationship with Givenchy creative director Sarah Burton, whom Comer has named among her favorite designers. Even so, her recent outings had leaned toward understated looks, making her latest appearance a refreshing change of pace.
Fresh photos have now put the spotlight firmly on that bolder side. Comer attended Givenchy’s spring/summer 2027 womenswear show on October 2 during Paris Fashion Week, wearing a vivid red Givenchy halter top with a high, softly draped neckline and a deep open back that ties at the waist.
The top itself was crafted in red velvet, with enough volume and length to work almost like a dress panel. She balanced the drama with slim black trousers with a pressed front line and black square-toe heeled mules, letting the saturated red do all the talking.
Her beauty look stayed equally relaxed. Comer wore her blonde hair in a loose, undone updo with soft strands framing her face, paired with understated rose-toned makeup.
The show’s setting seemed to match her calm mood. The set was built from a series of rounded cardboard arches, and Comer described feeling instantly relaxed in the space, likening it to stepping into a sound healing session.

She had plenty of famous company, too. Seventeen’s Jeonghan, attending his first Sarah Burton show, headed over to chat with Comer, while Janelle Monáe turned up in a masculine suit, tie and striped overcoat as part of a time traveler concept.
Cynthia Erivo, Eddie Redmayne and Anson Boon were also among the guests at Burton’s show. Red Carpet Fashion Awards singled Comer out, praising her for embracing color, draping and a silhouette with real shape.
The Paris appearance caps off a busy few weeks for the actress. Comer stars in ‘Stuffed’, a musical horror-romance that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival as the opening film of its Discovery program, marking the feature debut of writer-director Theo Rhys.

In the film, Comer plays Araminta, a taxidermist who dreams of stuffing a human, opposite Harry Melling as Bernie, a lonely man who volunteers himself. The actress went to unusual lengths to prepare for the role, revealing that she learned the craft firsthand. “I also did a very small taxidermy course in Portsmouth,” she told TheWrap at the festival.
Critics have responded warmly to her performance. Screen Daily called her a delight in the role, praising how her defensive attitude masks deep vulnerability, while TIFF’s programming notes described her as sensational.
Between ‘Stuffed’, her turn in ’28 Years Later’ and her steady Givenchy appearances, Comer is clearly enjoying a creative high point. Her red halter moment in Paris suggests that confidence is spilling over into her fashion choices as well.
It also hints at an evolving signature. The halter neckline has become something of a go-to silhouette for Comer, and this edgier, more modern take shows she’s willing to keep pushing it in fresh directions.
