A new chapter in the ‘Final Destination’ series is creeping closer, and it’s already got us on edge. The final trailer for ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ just dropped, giving a chilling peek at what’s ahead. This sixth installment promises to keep the franchise’s legacy of creative, jaw-dropping death scenes alive while pulling us back into its twisted world.

The ‘Final Destination’ movies have been spooking audiences since 2000, starting with a group of teens dodging a plane crash only to face Death’s relentless payback. Each film builds on that idea—someone cheats fate, and then fate strikes back in the wildest ways. This time, ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ centers on a college student named Stefanie, played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana. She’s haunted by violent nightmares that hint at her family’s doom, pushing her to track down the one person who might stop the carnage.

What stands out right away is the cast. Alongside Kaitlyn, we’ve got Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, and Brec Bassinger bringing fresh faces to the terror. Then there’s Tony Todd, returning as the eerie William Bludworth. He’s been the mysterious guide through Death’s rules since the first film. Tony filmed his scenes before his passing in November 2024, making this a bittersweet final bow for him.

Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the film lands in theaters and IMAX on May 16, 2025. These two teamed up before on ‘Freaks,’ so they know how to mix thrills with a tight story. The script comes from Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, with Jon Watts—who helmed the recent ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy—shaping the story and producing. That’s a solid crew to keep the tension high.

This film marks 14 years since ‘Final Destination 5’ hit screens in 2011. Back then, the series took a twist, revealing that movie was a prequel to the original.

Filming wrapped in Vancouver last year, running from March to May 2024 after delays from the SAG-AFTRA strike. The IMAX release is a big deal too—only ‘Final Destination 5’ got that treatment before. Bigger screens mean bigger scares, and I’m betting they’ll make every crash and scream hit harder.
