‘Gen V’ introduced us to a lot of new superpowered characters, as the series follows a new generation of supes who will one day inherit the roles of protectors (or villains) under the watchful guidance of Vought. On the campus of Godolkin University, you can find everything from classic superhuman strength to blood manipulation and Alpacas. Yes, you’ve read this right: one alpaca keeps appearing on the campus, mostly in the presence of Maverick, and we’re here to tell you all about it.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • Sloane is an Alpaca who follows Maverick, a supe with invisibility-based powers.
  • Alpaca is a female and seems to have the ability to understand English and form relationships with humans, as she and Maverick seem to be incredibly close.
  • It’s unknown whether Sloane is a real anime or yet another supe with shape-shifting powers.

Who is Maverick & what’s his connection with Sloane?

Maverick, an invisible supe, could be seen in every episode of ‘Gen V’ so far. He is mostly recognized in the scenes because he wears glasses and a baseball cap.

Maverick inherited his powers from his later father, Translucent, who was one of the members of the Seven before his untimely demise at the hands of The Boys during the show’s first season.

Both Translucent and Maverick shared powers, and both were somewhat of sexual deviants as Translucent and Maverick love spying on people while they are showering.

But one more peculiar thing about Maveric is that he can be seen in the company of an alpaca named Sloane. In one scene, he can be seen pulled by Sloane with a gagged mouth, and in another scene, he discusses how Sloane is “pissed with him.”

Instead of solving the mystery, this only brings more questions. So, let’s see some of the theories regarding Sloane.

Theory #1 Sloane is a superpowered alpaca

Considering that Vought has experimented on babies, it’s not so far-fetched that they experimented on animals as well. It’s quite possible that Sloane was injected with Compound V and, as a result, gained sentiency and is now capable of understanding English and communicating with humans, as we can see several characters in the show addressing Sloane as they would address a human.

Maverick also implied that Sloane has the capacity to be angry, not aggressive, but angry, pissed off. And as far as we know, only humans with human reasoning how the capacity to be pissed off in the true sense of the word.

Theory #2 Sloane is actually a shape-shifting supe

Another theory that’s not far-fetched when you take into account Godolkin University is that Sloane is not a true animal. She only has the capacity to turn into one. That would explain her strange familiarity with Maverick and the fact that people address her as they would a human.

Otherwise, the relationship that she and Maverick have would be weird. Plenty of supes have the ability to transform their bodies in drastic means, and so far, we haven’t seen a true example of shape-shifting, so Sloane might be the first.

Theory #3: Sloane is merely a gag character, and there’s no mystery behind the alpaca

The third theory is that Sloane is a regular alpaca, and the people keep addressing her in such a familiar way because they see her often. Just like you would greet a neighbor’s dog or something or any kind of animal you are familiar with on a regular basis. It’s possible that Sloane is used a comedic element, and there’s no real depth to her story.

It would be awesome to have a super alpaca in any case, and hopefully, we will learn more in the coming episodes. What do you think? What’s the deal with Sloane? Let us know in the comments below!
