Guy Ritchie Just Confirmed ‘MobLand’ Season 2 Is Coming Before the End of 2026, and Here’s Everything We Know

Few crime dramas landed with the kind of immediate cultural impact that ‘MobLand‘ managed when it arrived on Paramount+ in spring of last year. Created by Ronan Bennett, the series stars Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza, a street-smart fixer employed by the Harrigan crime family to navigate and mitigate an escalating conflict threatening their empire, with Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren rounding out the central cast as patriarch Conrad and his scheming wife Maeve. The show quickly proved itself to be something special, blending Guy Ritchie’s signature kinetic style with a prestige ensemble that audiences simply could not get enough of.

The premiere broke Paramount+’s record for its largest global series launch ever, drawing 2.2 million viewers on its first day, and the show went on to accumulate over 26 million views across its first season. Despite earning a reasonable 76% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it was a genuine smash when it came to viewership, leading to its renewal by Paramount+ in June of last year. For a show that arrived with relatively little fanfare, the response was nothing short of extraordinary.

Now, the wait for the Harrigan family’s return is finally getting a clearer shape. During a promotional interview with ScreenRant for his upcoming film ‘In the Grey’, Guy Ritchie casually but definitively confirmed when fans can expect ‘MobLand’ back on their screens. Speaking to the outlet, Ritchie outlined his packed upcoming slate, saying, “We’ve got MobLand before the end of the year, and we’ve got The Gentlemen before the end of the year. And we’ve got Wife and Dog. We’ve got three or four things coming out before the end of the year.” It is the most direct confirmation yet that the second season is firmly on track for a 2026 release.

For fans who had been hoping to see new episodes this summer, the timeline points to a longer wait than early production wraps had suggested, with Ritchie’s comments indicating post-production will take considerably more time than the first season’s notoriously tight turnaround. Season 1 premiered while filming was still ongoing, with production wrapping just four days before its March 30 release, meaning the pace was almost recklessly fast by any standard. This time around, it sounds like Paramount+ wants a smoother runway into the new episodes.

Season 2 has been filming for around six months, with production set up across Spain and London, including locations in Hackney where Hardy, Brosnan, and Emmett J. Scanlan were spotted shooting scenes. Two new faces have also been confirmed as series regulars, with Johnny Flynn from HBO’s ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ and Ophelia Lovibond from ‘Minx’ both boarding the show, though details about their characters remain tightly under wraps.

There is plenty of unresolved drama for the returning cast to dig into, with Harry having been accidentally stabbed by his wife Jan, Kevin having ostensibly taken over the family business, and both Conrad and Maeve behind bars heading into the new season. Tom Hardy has also been teasing a broader ambition for where the story could head, telling Collider in an earlier interview, “The plan is definitely to see more seasons. The question is: Does it become international?”

With production wrapped, Ritchie’s team deep in post, and a confirmed late-year window now on the table, the second chapter of the Harrigan saga feels closer than ever. Whether Harry Da Souza is heading toward something more dangerous, more personal, or both, the show has clearly earned its audience’s patience.

What do you think will happen to Harry in Season 2, and do you believe ‘MobLand’ has what it takes to go international and sustain itself across multiple seasons?
