Hawkeye: Producer Teases That Jeremy Renner Will Not Leave MCU After Disney+ Series

Hawkeye, Marvel’s Disney+ series premiered earlier this week with the first two episodes. Jeremy Renner returned as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, the role he’s been playing since 2011, and Hailee Steinfeld debuted as Kate Bishop, a character known to Marvel fans as Hawkeye’s successor.
Although most of the fans are thinking that, by the end of the series, Clint will pass his bow and arrow to Kate and leave MCU for good, producer Trinh Tran says that Renner still has the future in the franchise. She also said that the fact that Hawkeye is one of the heroes who’s got no superpowers, only a unique set of skills, is what makes him a popular character.
“There are always new stories to be told, especially with Clint Barton. There is so much more to explore. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but it’s amazing to work with Jeremy. He loves his character, He’s the only person who really knows who Clint Barton is. I think there are possibilities. We’ll see.”
“I think that’s one of the biggest reasons the public likes him. He’s one of the only heroes without superpowers, but he always saves the day. He is an ordinary man. The message is that if you put in the effort, you can do anything. He can be alongside the other Avengers, who can fly and have special abilities, and be able to fight and do whatever it takes to save the world. I think this is very inspiring for viewers. You can make effort and you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.”

Even though fans are kinda expecting it, Renner never said he’s going to leave MCU after the Hawkeye series. When we look at everything that happened to Clint Barton in MCU before, it seems that the series might be the perfect way to retire him and let Kate Bishop take over. It’s known that Hailee Steinfeld has the future in MCU, and we’re excited about that. As for Barton, nothing is sure for now, we can only wait for some official announcements.
The first two episodes of Hawkeye are now available on Disney+. A new episode is coming next Wednesday.
