Heavenly Delusion is a very peculiar series that has, thanks to a very specific plot and setting, become quite popular around the world. And while the series combines many known elements but still manages to create a uniquely special story that has succeeded in capturing the attention of fans worldwide. Aside from the plot, Heavenly Delusion also features some amazing characters, including the strangely interesting Jūichi. In this article, we will talk about the strange man we’ve seen in this post-apocalyptic series, who is an unlikely ally of the two protagonists. The article will reveal everything you need to know about Jūichi and his role in the story so far.

Jūichi is a supporting character in the Heavenly Delusion manga and anime. He first appeared after an earthquake when he exited a destroyed building not long after Maru and Kiruko left the Immortal Order. He thought the two of them were bandits but then helped them, although it wasn’t clear whether he was telling the truth. But, then the two of them found out that he was, he reappeared as an ally, and they helped him reunite with his son while he, unbeknownst to them, also planned his revenge.

The rest of this article will be about Jūichi and his story in the Heavenly Delusion manga and anime series. We will introduce you to all the facts that are known about this strange man while, at the same time, not revealing too many spoilers from the manga, as the anime series has its own mysterious way of evolving, and we want to respect that. Still, if you’re not completely up-to-date with the events that have happened – so far – in the Heavenly Delusion manga, we have to warn you that the article is going to contain spoilers and that you might find out something you do not want to find out, so be careful.

Jūichi is an intriguing character, but his story shows just how dark the world of Heavenly Delusion is

As everyone who’s seen at least one episode of Heavenly Delusion will know, post-apocalyptic Japan portrayed in the series is a place that is as strange as it is enigmatic, with more questions popping up whenever a single answer is presented.

And while many things look just as you’d expect from a post-apocalyptic series, isolated, half-destroyed, and dangerous, there is something odd in there. It is not anarchy, and a relatively functional society exists there, but it’s still quite odd. The anime still hasn’t revealed what happened to this world, so we won’t be revealing it either in this article, but the story is quite interesting. We can promise you that. And in such a world, the character of Jūichi is a truly great example of all that oddness and mysteriousness. Now, let us see his story.

After leaving the Immortal Order and facing yet another tragedy, Maru and Kiruko continue their search for Heaven and Robin when a fairly strong but short earthquake hits. And while some of the ground splits apart, Maru and Kiruko are able to avoid injuries, and soon after, they hear a nearby building falling apart, and they decide to go investigate, as such places can contain valuable loot.

But, they had been beaten to is as when they arrived, a strange-looking blonde man appeared from under the wreckage. He says that he was doing what they wanted to do and then offers them a deal, thinking that the two of them are bandits, angers them, but they manage to calm down.

The guy introduces himself as Jūichi, and it turns out that he has a functional car, so Maru and Kiruko go with him for a while. As they reach a specific building, they ask for information, and he says he will give them more information, but he first has to park his car in front of the building. He then reveals that he actually makes money by telling people stories about the world and takes out a board with stories he knows. They offer him money, and he starts talking.

He reveals the story of how this world came to be, suggesting that it was either a meteor that struck the Earth and caused such chaos, aliens (even showing a picture of a flying creature that looks a lot like a Man-Eater, although Kiruko dismisses it as a bird), or a war in which a weapon of mass destruction was used that created the world as it is today.

But, aside from the first official discussion about the world in the anime, Jūichi also revealed his own story, which was even more tragic and was tied to the tattoo of the number 11 that could be seen on his arm.

Jūichi revealed that he was once a so-called “breeding pig” called Breeding Pig #11. He lived in the so-called “Walled Town,” which echoes a chaotic version of Takahara Academy. Namely, the “Walled Town” was run by women who used men as “breeding pigs.”

They treated them inhumanely and kept them in cages, using them only for reproduction, so the men lived in horrible conditions. They were numbered, with the number tattooed somewhere on their bodies. The men were also forced to work for the misandrist women and were treated more like animals than anything else. The children who would be born would also have different treatments depending on their genders.

So, what happened to Jūichi? Well, two of the women from the group decided to rape him one night, and one became pregnant with a child. As the two of them, supposedly a couple, did not want to raise a child in such a place, they asked Jūichi whether he wanted to escape with them, as they would need male assistance later on. Jūichi, of course, accepted, and the three of them devised an escape plan.

One night, they escaped, but one of the other breeding pigs saw them escaping and raised the alarm. Jūichi managed to flee, but the two women were caught and killed because of their rebellion, and they were ultimately hanged outside the walls of the “town” as a symbol and a warning to everyone. Since then, he has been searching for his son.

But, as it turned out, Jūichi’s tattoo on the arm was fake, and Kiruko swiftly chased him away, and as he left, it was revealed that he parked his car in front of the building because it was a building of the Takahara Academy, which also had the bird-like symbol that the protagonists were looking for on it. After some research, Maru and Kiruko met with Jūichi again and discovered that he actually had a real tattoo on his shoulder, so they decided to accompany him.

Soon after, they met with two of his former “buddies,” Breeding Pigs #6 and #9, who took them to the “Walled Town,” which was now run by the men, as the women were not there anymore. They also told him his son, Jugo, was alive. And while it turned out that the boy had a Man-Eater core inside him, he would be completely normal when he was conscious, so Jūichi could take care of him.

So, what happened in the end? Well, Jūichi gave his car to Maru and Kiruko, but while it seemed that he would remain in the colony with his son, happy, he actually killed #9 with a circular saw and ran away with his boy. It was then revealed that #9 raised the alarm back then, which led to the death of Jugo’s mother and her partner, so Jūichi got his revenge.
