Robin Inazaki is a supporting character in the Heavenly Delusion manga and anime. He is a mysterious man who was seen taking care of Haruki and Kiriko in the post-apocalyptic world; he is their father figure, as well as the father figure of the other children, and he cares for them and protects them. Since then, he has gone missing, and Kiruko is looking for him, and will eventually find him.
The rest of this article will be about Robin Inazaki and his story in the Heavenly Delusion manga and anime series. We will introduce you to all the facts that are known about the guy while, at the same time, not revealing too many spoilers from the manga, as the anime series has its own mysterious way of evolving, and we want to respect that. Still, if you’re not completely up-to-date with the events that have happened – so far – in the Heavenly Delusion manga, we have to warn you that the article is going to contain spoilers and that you might find out something you do not want to find out, so be careful.
Robin Inazaki is a complete enigma
Fans of Heavenly Delusion will know that post-apocalyptic Japan portrayed in the series is a mysterious and strange place. It is seemingly normal and has a lot of elements, like our world, but it is isolated, half-destroyed, and dangerous. It is not an anarchy, but it is also not far from it. The anime still hasn’t revealed what happened to this world, so we won’t be revealing it either, at least not here. We sincerely suggest you check out the manga if you want more information, as the story is truly great. But that’s enough about that – let us get back to Robin Inazaki and his role in the story.
Robin Inazaki is a supporting character in the series, first observed via a photograph carried by Kiruko. When she and Maru reach a new place, Kiruko always takes a photograph showing Robin and Dr. Sawatari, asking the person whether they’ve seen them; so far, she has been out of luck.
Robin Inazaki is from the post-apocalyptic period, but he has been seen only in flashback scenes. He was a man in his 30-40 who lived with Haruki, Kiruko, and the other children, caring for them and acting as their father figure. He also protected them and worked with his other friends and allies to protect the children from the monsters we’ve seen in the series.
He was there when the accident with the siblings happened, but we don’t know what happened to him since he simply disappeared after that. Most people assume that he is dead, but Kiruko assumes that, due to his resourcefulness, he managed to survive and is hiding somewhere, so Kiruko is carrying a photograph of him and asking around about him.
Unlike dr. Sawatari, whom she wants to hurt because of what he did, doesn’t seem to harbor any bad feelings toward Robin. In fact, Kiruko talks about him in such a way that Maru thinks – that is before he finds out the truth about Kiruko – that she is in love with him, which makes him jealous. But that is not the case, as Maru will find out while they are on the smugglers’ boat.

We don’t know why Kiruko is looking for Robin, either. It is probably because Kiruko still sees him as an important figure in her life and the missing father figure. Robin was a laid-back guy, but he was caring and very protective; he did not allow the children to face danger and warned them to stay away when any danger was near.
He also knew how to talk to them, give them advice, and make them laugh, which is why he was such a good parent figure to all of them. This is most likely the reason why Kiruko is looking for him; namely, after the accident, Kiruko spent some time in the hospital, and once she got out, her whole world changed – her friends were gone, Robin was gone, and Dr. Sawatari was gone as well. Her search for Robin is probably just a way of filling up the void that came to be after her world completely changed (and that is coming from the perspective of an already heavily-changed world).
So, as far as Robin is concerned, we can only say that the guy is a proper mystery. We’ve only gotten glimpses of him actually doing something or speaking, as he is primarily represented via the photograph carried by Kiruko. He was and obviously is a very important person to Kiruko, and we assume that his role in her story will be much bigger than the anime has shown up to this point. The manga reveals more information about him, but we won’t be giving out too many spoilers here as it would defeat the point of the story’s enigmatic progression. Oh, before we finish – unlike Dr. Sawatari, who is an actual doctor, “Dr.” Robin Inazuki is actually not a doctor, despite what you might have heard.
