‘Helldivers’ Movie Plan Involoves Violently Kill Off A-List Celebrities, Says Arrowhead CEO

During Sony’s 2025 CES Press Conference, it was announced that ‘Helldivers’ franchise will expand with a movie, it’s also been announced that the studio behind the game Arrowhead will also be involved.
Arrowhead’s boss, Johan Pilestedt, admitted the studio doesn’t have much experience with making movies. He said they’ll let experts handle most of the work on the Helldivers movie as they shouldn’t have the final say on the decision.
Now Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani shared one more spicy take on the movie. He suggested on Discord that the ‘Helldivers’ movie should feature A-list celebrities but have them quickly killed off.
Fans quickly supported the notion and started pitching their own ideas and listing examples, like ‘Deadpool 2’ where this exact scenario took place.
Not much is known about the movie so far, except for what we stated above. The movie was announced only a few days ago along with ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ movie.
So far, ‘Helldivers 2’ was a huge success in 2024. By February, it had sold 1 million copies, becoming the biggest launch for a PlayStation Studios game on PC. Its strong sales exceeded expectations, leading Arrowhead Studios to expand its team to support more content. The game topped sales charts in Europe, the UK, and Canada, becoming the best-selling game of February 2024 and staying on top in Canada through April.
