The Film We’ve Been Waiting For: Henry Cavill’s Superman Takes on Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam in This Fan-Made Trailer

Remember Black Adam, which was released in 2022? If you don’t, that’s understandable, as the film was a commercial failure and received poor reviews. The one standout feature was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s portrayal of the character, which seemed tailor-made for the role.
However, if you did watch the movie, you’ll likely recall the post-credit scene that hinted at an exciting future for both Johnson’s Black Adam and Henry Cavill’s Superman.
This anticipated future never materialized, as several months after Black Adam‘s release, it was announced that the DCEU would be discontinued and replaced by Gunn and Safran’s new DCU. Henry Cavill lost his role as Superman to David Corenswet, and the chance to see these two iconic DC characters clash was lost.
However, there’s a glimmer of hope. Recently, Screen Culture released a fan-made trailer for Black Adam V Superman. Titled Black Adam v Superman: Dawn of Justice II, the trailer reimagines footage from Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam taking over Ben Affleck’s Batman’s role. The story picks up after their first meeting in the Black Adam post-credits scene, featuring Superman facing off against Kahndaq’s protector.
We’re left wondering how that epic showdown might have played out, especially considering Johnson’s “can’t lose” clause in his contracts.
Although DCEU projects were ultimately canceled, there’s still a possibility that Black Adam could make an appearance in the future DCU. Additionally, it’s possible that Johnson’s and Cavill’s storylines might continue under the Elseworlds banner, which encompasses projects like The Batman franchise and its spinoffs.
