In today’s article, we are going to inform you about the eventual High School DxD season 5 release date, plot, cast, and the High School DxD novel/manga on which the whole story is based. You will also find out where to watch the next High School DxD Season 5.
High School DxD Season 5: Release Date
The bad news is that no official release date for High School DxD Season 5 has been announced as of yet. The new season of the anime series was originally scheduled to release in 2020. COVID-19, however, threw a kink in those preparations, as it did with many other anime releases.
Ichiei Ishibumi, the original High School DxD light novel author, confirmed that season 5 of the series is still in the works. He also encouraged fans to buy and read more of the light novel series, as increased sales of the novel might help the anime series continue to be produced.
If the Season 5 of High School DxD airs this year, it would most likely happen during the fall anime season, possibly in October. Otherwise, the next season is expected to premiere in 2022.
High School DXD Season 5: Plot
Based on previous reports, we presume that the story of the fifth season of the anime series High School DxD will pick up where it left off in the fourth season of the series.
Season 5, produced by Passione Studio and directed by Yoshifumi Sueda, will use content from the light novels to develop new storylines. We expect season 5 to adapt volumes 11 and 12, which are the next two volumes from the light novels.
With the new season set to start, we predict they’ll start the Middle-Class Promotion Test in earnest. Koneko begins to act dubiously as Issei, Akeno, and Kiba are getting ready to ace the test. Koneko also finds out about Issei and Rias’ relationship and does not agree with it.
Although on the other hand, there is a huge twist to the story. The Khaos Brigade leader, Azazel, along with Ophis is brought to the Hyoudou Residence.
High School DXD Season 5: Characters/Cast
The official cast of High School Dxd Season 5 has not been revealed yet but hopefully, characters from the primary cast will undoubtedly return. The primary character, Issei Hyoudou, will almost certainly appear. Rias Gremory, the devil, will return with him. Asia Argento, Akeno Himejima, and Koneko Toujou are among the cast members who have confirmed their participation in the fifth season.
It is almost certain that the same animation studio team from previous seasons will return for High School DxD Season 5. Studio TNK worked on the first three seasons of High School DxD. However, the fourth season was produced by Passione in-house and supervised by Yoshifumi Sueda. Many fans were surprised when the studios and style changed, and some fans did not like the switch.
Because of this, many fans made a petition requesting the series return to its original seasons one through three styles. But it’s quite likely that the High School DxD franchise will still utilize Passione and Sueda to do the animation work for Season 5.
For those who don’t know, let’s meet some of the characters. The others will just be reminded of who they are.
Issei Hyoudou
Issei Hyoudou is the main male protagonist of High School DxD. He is a high school student in Class 3-B at Kuoh Academy, and one of the three most perverted members of the school’s “Perverted Trio.”
At the beginning of the series, Issei is shown to be obtuse, self-centered, vain, and overly obsessed with women’s breasts and with the formation of his harem. As a result, he’s been labeled a pervert and associated with the Kuoh Academy Perverted Trio.
While he has a penchant for deviant behavior, Issei is brave, selfless, and steadfast in his commitment to protecting those he cares about, which nearly cost him his life.
Rias Gremory
Rias Gremory is the main female protagonist of High School DxD. She is the heiress of the Gremory Clan and the youngest child of Zeoticus and Venelana Gremory. She is known as the Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess and the former President of the Occult Research Club as well. She is also one of Issei’s fiancées.
She is incredibly generous and positive, especially to those who are in her service and those who are close to her. When people insult her or her peerage, she gets angry and violent, showing a fiery side to her.
For her to live in the human world, she needs to be known as Rias, the school student leader, rather than as the Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess or as a Devil.
Asia Argento
The cast of High School DxD includes many female protagonists, such as Asia Argento. She is a gentle girl with a Sacred Gear called Twilight Healing, which is capable of healing wounds of Humans, Angels, Fallen Angels, and Devils as well.
Asia is reserved, innocent, and relatively inexperienced in the areas of social interaction. She doesn’t deny the existence of God or God’s teachings, but since being reborn as a Devil, Asia still believes in Him and practices aspects of His faith such as praying and reading the Bible, which inevitably causes her to experience intense headaches. She is also one of Issei’s fiancées.
Koneko Toujou
Koneko Toujou is another female protagonist of High School DxD. She is a second-year high school student at Kuoh Academy and a member of the Occult Research Club. Of course, she is also one of Issei’s fiancées.
Koneko has a quiet and cold personality. Even when she is speaking, she rarely shows any feelings or emotions. It is theorized that Rias’ influence has caused her to take on a more serious personality.
Aside from Issei, she was the only member of the group who didn’t initially get along with him, frequently insulting and reprimanding him for his perverted nature. She eventually acknowledged him as a positive influence in the group, calling him a dedicated worker.
When her comrades are in trouble, she frequently lends her strength in battle.
Akeno Himejima
Akeno Himejima is a first-year college student at Kuoh Academy and one of the many female protagonists of High School DxD. She is Rias Gremory’s Queen and her best friend as well. She is another one of Issei’s fiancées.
The smile she wears and the joy with which she dispatches enemies shows that she is also highly sadistic in battle, merciless and without regard for the suffering she causes, continuing to project an image of sedate elegance in the face of a foe’s demise and bearing a look of satisfaction and lust as she dispatches them.
