How Knull Could Be the Catalyst for the SSU’s Merger with the MCU

The final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance has just been released. This film is significant for multiple reasons: it’s the concluding chapter of the trilogy and marks the introduction of one of Marvel Comics’ most fearsome and powerful villains—Knull, the King in Black.

Although Knull is a relatively “new” character in the comic landscape, he has rapidly emerged as the greatest threat to symbiotes, making him a perfect fit for this movie.

Despite Knull being an incredibly intriguing character, fans worried that featuring him in a single movie wouldn’t do him justice. There was no buildup for him, and frankly, the SSU currently lacks characters powerful enough to take him down.

However, if recent rumors are accurate, Knull won’t be a “one and done” character; instead, he may crossover to the MCU in the upcoming Spider-Man 4.

While this hasn’t been confirmed by any official sources, if true, it could lead to the rumored merger between the SSU and MCU that industry insiders have discussed for years.

So, what does Knull have to do with it? Given that Knull is a multiversal villain, he’s currently the only being in the SSU with enough power to destroy an entire reality.

Knull is considered a multiversal villain due to his origins and abilities. As the living embodiment of darkness and the creator of the symbiotes, he exists beyond a single universe. His influence spans various realities, making him a terrifying threat to multiple dimensions.

His power comes from primordial darkness, positioning him as a cosmic entity. This enables him to impact not just one universe, but many, challenging heroes across different realities.

Knull has battled major cosmic figures like the Celestials and even the living embodiment of the universe itself.

It’s possible that Knull could invade the SSU and obliterate that reality. With the abilities granted by his connection to “the Hive,” Carnage and Venom might jump to another reality, specifically Earth-616.

The Hive has no universal limitations and facilitates cross-universe connections. Since a piece of Venom is currently on Earth-616, he could serve as an anchor for the two symbiotes.

As for other characters from the SSU, they are unlikely to make the jump, although Madame Web could theoretically do so.

Kraven the Hunter’s transition to a different universe might depend on the success of his upcoming solo film. The character lacks significant powers to manipulate reality and dimensions, but some of Kraven’s storylines involve him facing different versions of Spider-Man and other heroes, hinting at potential multiversal encounters.
