One of the classic movies that some of the older fans are nostalgic about is Willow, which was released in 1988 and starred Warwick Davis as the central character of an ensemble cast in a dark fantasy adventure storyline. Disney seems to be riding the nostalgia train by bringing back Willow in the Willow series that will be released on Disney+. In that regard, it has been decades since the movie version came out. So, how old is Warwick Davis in the Willow movie and series?

Warwick Davis was just 17 years old during the shooting of the Willow movie, even though he already had two kids in the setting of the story of the movie itself. Of course, considering that it has been 34 years since the release of Willow, Warwick Davis is now 51 years old in the Willow series.

The fact that it has already been more than three decades since the release of the Willow movie means that Warwick Davis has already aged quite a bit since then. But we don’t know how long it has been in the in-universe time of the Willow movie. The good part, however, is that Warwick is still quite young in the movie and isn’t too old to take part in a new adventure.

While there were plans for the Willow movie to have a sequel, any plans of producing a Willow 2 movie were scrapped. The good thing is that Disney has a lot of resources to ride the nostalgia train as the company decided to produce a Disney+ series that would serve as the sequel to the Willow movie. Of course, the series is still entitled Willow, and that means that Warwick Davis’s character will still be the central figure in this show.

The good thing about the fact that Warwick Davis was still just 18 during the release of Willow is the fact that time didn’t age him too much to the point that he is already too old to reprise the role that turned him into a well-known actor. In fact, 34 years have passed since Willow, and that means that Warwick is now 52 years old. Meanwhile, during the filming of the Willow series, he must have been around 51 years old.

Not a lot of characters are still spry enough to reprise their old roles more than 30 years later, and the good thing about Warwick is that he was still just very young in the movie. As such, 52 isn’t an age that’s too old to reprise the role of a central character in a fantasy adventure series, as we’ve seen older actors playing central roles in similar movies.

Of course, we don’t know how long it has been in the universe of Willow since the end of the first movie, as there hasn’t been any information regarding how many years have passed since Willow and his friends defeated the evil Queen Bavmorda. But based on what we know, it has been years since the events of the movie happened, and it is possible that decades have also passed in the universe of Willow.

Nevertheless, it is also possible that the time that has passed in the series is not the same as the time that has passed in the real world. They can certainly pull that off because Warwick Davis doesn’t look that old yet. As such, Willow probably isn’t that old in the movie. 

But it is possible that he has become the High Aldwin of his village, considering that the actor of the character of the original movie had already passed away. And because Willow is a hero in his own right after helping in the defeat of Queen Bavmorda during the events of the first movie, he might play the role of a wise mentor to younger heroes in the upcoming Willow series.
