Industry Insider Reveals How Knull Might Be Adapted in the MCU

Knull, one of Marvel’s scariest villains, recently appeared in Venom: The Last Dance. His inclusion in the movie sparked mixed reactions, with some fans excited while others felt it was a poor choice to introduce him in the final film of the trilogy.

Voiced by Andy Serkis, Knull didn’t play a major role in the movie. The director, Kelly Marcel, explained that this was just the start for the character, and he’s expected to return in future films.

Knull is set to appear in Spider-Man 4, but it’s still unclear how the MCU will handle his character.

Before Venom 3 was even released, fans were worried that Knull would have to be weakened, since no character in the SSU had power close to his.

Knull is an extremely powerful cosmic being who created the symbiotes, including Venom. He can control darkness, use it to create weapons and creatures, and even control minds. Knull is so strong that he can fight entire armies, defeat gods, and challenge beings like the Celestials and Thor.

In short, Knull is a god, and it’s hard to adapt such powerful characters without making changes, often by weakening them. If industry insider Alex Perez is right, Knull will likely be nerfed for his MCU appearance as well.

In a recent December Discord AMA, Perez was asked if strong Avengers like Thor, Captain Marvel, and Scarlet Witch would appear in a Knull story, given that Knull is stronger than characters like Dr. Doom, Thanos, Kang, and even the Celestials. Perez said he thinks the creators will lower Knull’s power by explaining that he’s not fully at his strength yet, since he’s just escaped from Klyntar, the planet of the symbiotes. This would make him less powerful than he is in the comics.

Alex Perez: “I expect them to nerf Knull by saying he’s less powerful because he just got out of Klyntar and isn’t at 100% power yet.”

This is a smart move because dealing with Knull usually takes a team effort, involving almost every superhero in the MCU, much like Endgame.

After the release of Kraven the Hunter, the future of the SSU is uncertain, with some reports saying Sony doesn’t want to spend more money on failing live-action projects.

If that’s the case, the MCU might be the only chance for Knull’s story to continue.
