Insider Reveals Rumored Major Casting for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Tied to a Key Role in ‘Secret Wars’

Fans are most excited about the upcoming Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars. While not much is known about their plots, it’s likely they’ll adapt the Time Runs Out storyline and Secret Wars events.

Robert Downey Jr. is set to return to the MCU, but not as Iron Man—he’ll play Doctor Doom, taking on a key role in the multiverse conflict. The Fantastic Four are confirmed to appear, along with the Avengers.

As for other characters, most of what we know comes from rumors. These suggest that over 50 characters will be included, including some popular Marvel legacy heroes.

Industry insider Daniel Richtman recently shared a rumor on his private Patreon that Marvel Studios is casting a “secret role” for Avengers: Doomsday. The character is said to be a well-known Marvel figure who will also play a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars.

While the description is vague, making it hard to pinpoint the character, one iconic name comes to mind: the Beyonder. This cosmic figure played a huge role in the Time Runs Out and Secret Wars storylines, yet hasn’t been introduced in the MCU.

In the comics, the Beyonders were responsible for the Incursions—events where alternate realities collided, threatening to destroy entire universes unless one Earth was destroyed. These catastrophic events were part of their experiment to study life and destruction, plunging the multiverse into chaos and forcing heroes and villains to act. Notably, the Beyonder also managed to kill the Living Tribunal during this storyline.

Doctor Doom discovered the Beyonders’ plan and took action to stop them. With help, he defeated them and stole their immense power. Using this godlike energy, Doom created Battleworld—a realm made from fragments of destroyed universes—and declared himself its ruler, known as “God Emperor Doom.” This power allowed him to temporarily hold the broken multiverse together.

For a while, we’ve speculated that the Beyonder’s absence might mean characters like Scarlet Witch or Franklin Richards could take on his role in the story.

However, if the rumored casting truly is for the Beyonder, it removes the need to theorize about alternate sources of power for the creation of Battleworld and, by extension, Secret Wars.
