Insider Shares New Scene Details from ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ 2

The next Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is officially on the way. Titled Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, the sequel will continue the story from the first film, which was released in 2023. Directed by Emma Tammi and written by Scott Cawthon, the movie brings back many of the original cast and also introduces new characters.
Josh Hutcherson returns as Mike Schmidt, along with Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa, Piper Rubio as Abby, and Matthew Lillard as William Afton. New cast members include Skeet Ulrich, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Teo Briones.
While some of their roles are still being kept secret, Ulrich is expected to play Henry Emily, one of the key characters from the game series.
Back in 2018, Scott Cawthon mentioned that a second movie could happen if the first one did well. That idea became real when Hutcherson confirmed in January 2024 that a sequel was being worked on.
By April of the same year, Blumhouse Productions made it official and shared that Jim Henson’s Creature Shop would again help design the creepy animatronics.
Filming started in November 2024 and wrapped up by February 2025. Matthew Lillard had said earlier during New York Comic-Con that filming would kick off around the end of October, and he was right. He also signed a three-movie deal with the studio, which means he’s likely to appear in more future installments.
The film is set to be released in the U.S. on December 5, 2025, by Universal Pictures.
In a new report from industry insider Daniel Richtman, shared on his Patreon, fans got a sneak peek at one of the scenes in the movie. He claims there will be a scene inside the pizzeria where Vanessa and Charlotte are at a birthday party. He also revealed something unexpected: “here will be a water ride inside the pizzeria, with actual boats.“
There’s a scene with Charlotte and Vanessa in the pizzeria and they’re celebrating a birthday party. There are water ride with boats inside the pizzeria.
This gives a hint that the new film might go bigger with its set design and horror elements, offering fans something they haven’t seen before.
With returning stars, new characters, and wild additions like indoor boat rides, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 seems like it’s aiming to surprise both longtime fans and new viewers. The wait until December might feel long, but all signs point to a bigger and scarier ride ahead.
