Is Doctor Doom in Black Panther 2? Post-credits Leaked

Dr. Doom in Black Panther 2

It would seem that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which is set to be released on November 11 got a leak ahead of time and it apparently outright shows that Doctor Doom is going to be the next Black Panther Villain.

The leak can be traced back to Daniel Richtman and their paid discord server, but when it comes to the accuracy and reliability of the leak, it should be noted that, in the past, their leaks weren’t as reliable as we would like.

This is not the first time that Doctor Doom is mentioned to be a villain in Black Panther 2, back in 2019, a rumor started by Charles Murphy claimed the same. The premise of the rumor was that Victor Von Doom is going to try to expand his empire into Wakanda to rob it of its most valuable resource – Vibranium. This apparent plot of the Black Panther 2 strongly correlates with the 2010 Doomwar, in which Doctor Doom invades Wakanda with the same goal of acquiring Vibranium.

Is Victor Van Doom going to be Black Panther 2 Villain?

At this point, we don’t know, besides the leaks and rumors we don’t have any hard evidence. But, there are several reasons why Doctor Doom might as well be the next Black Panther 2 Villain. First, Incorporating the Doomwar storyline into the movie would be a great painless way to explain the absence and passing of Chadwick Boseman since in the comic Victor Von Doom wounds T’Challa to the point that he can’t be Black Panther.

The second plot states that scientist Lake Bell along with her team was leading underwater expeditions in search of Vibranium, but before seemingly making any kind of real progress were wiped out by Namor, current Prince of Atlantis.

The expedition was using technology developed by Riri Williams Aka Ironheart will take refuge in Wakanda around the time T’Challa dies. Namor eventually figures this out and asks Wakandans to turn over Ironheart. They refuse and outright war blows up between Wakanda and Atlantis. Shuri’s mother passes and Shuri is trying to become the next Black Panther by creating the artificial flower, she travels to the ancestral plane where she eventually meets Killmonger. With her newfound powers, she will be able to defeat Namor. M’Baku will be made the new king of Wakanda and Shuri will remain the Black Panther.

Where does Doctor Doom fit into all of that? The post-credit scene shows that he was the one who sent the original Lake Bell team on underwater expeditions—effectively tricking Namor into attacking and weakening Wakanda as a sort of diversion. His ultimate motivation is the search and utilization of Vibranium. This plot might line up with the past rumors concerning Black Panther 2 and give the leak a little bit of credibility.

But ultimately there are several reasons why you should be skeptical about the leak too. We’ve already mentioned how Richtman has a somewhat grey record when it comes to leaks and rumors. Doctor Doom might as well be featured in any of the upcoming movies such as Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantamania and The Marvels. The post-credits scenes might change too since the movie is still a long time away from being released.

In any way, all leaks and rumors point in the way of both Namor and Dr. Doom being the villains of the Black Panther 2. And this would be a perfect opportunity to separate Dr. Doom from his identity of simply being a Fantastic Four villain and set the stage for greater things to come in the context of his character. His actions in the comics impacted the world in so many ways it would be a shame to keep him strictly as a Fantastic Four Villain. He would be a great fit for a villain in the final movie of Marvel’s Phase 4.

Who is the Villain in Black Panther 2?

To sum up, everything we have at our disposal right now, it’s hard to say. Over the years several rumors and leaks went in the direction of both Namor and Dr. Doom Being the Villains. For a total confirmation, we’re going to have to be patient and wait for the movie’s release.

Is Chadwick Boseman going to be in Black Panther 2?

He won’t, executive producer Victoria Alonso confirmed that a digital double of Chadwick Boseman will not be created nor will his scenes be reshot. To honor the late actor’s legacy the role of T’Challa will not be recast. Even though his brother Derrick Boseman was very outspoken about this fact. He claimed that Chadwick Boseman wouldn’t want in any way for the character of T’Challa to die with him. The movie will go in a different direction and try to explore other characters already established in the first movie.
