In this article, we are going to further elaborate on the answer given above. You’re going to find out more details about the Drago Ball FighterZ video game and how you can play it if you and your friend have different consoles. FighterZ might not be the best Dragon Ball game out there, but it is interesting enough for us to give you a detailed guy.

Which platforms can you play Dragon Ball FighterZ on?

Dragon Ball FighterZ was released on January 26, 2018 on the PlayStation, Xbox and Windows consoles, while the Switch version was released on September 27, 2018 (in Japan, with a worldwide release the next day). So, the game is currently available on four consoles and they are:

  • PlayStation 4
  • Xbox One
  • Microsoft Windows
  • Nintendo Switch

The game has a three-on-three team combat system. The player must choose three characters to form a team, whom he will control one at a time, being able to exchange them during any moment of the battle. In addition to the health bar, there is another energy bar, which can be charged and used to perform special attacks that cause greater damage to the opponent.

To win a game you must beat all the opponent’s fighters. The controls are 4 attack buttons: Weak, Medium, Strong, and Special, the latter activates special abilities unique to each character. You can perform Air Dash, Double Jump, Super Jump, Chain Combo, and Air Recovery. Different types of movements can also be executed: “Dragon Rush” a conventional grip on the opponent, “Super Dash” an onslaught that sends the character towards the opponent and “Vanish” that allows teleporting behind the enemy.

Combined attacks called “Assist” can be performed, where an ally is momentarily summoned to attack the opponent. There is also an ability called “Sparking Blast”, which can only be used once in battle and when activated progressively regenerates the health bar and increases the percentage of damage.

There is a mechanic that involves the Dragon Balls during combat. To achieve them, combos of a certain number of hits must be carried out, in such a way that a combo of ten hits will unlock the one star sphere, one of twenty hits that of two stars, one of thirty hits that of three stars and so on until the seven-star, requiring a seventy-hit combo. These spheres are obtained between both players, which means that as they are unlocked they will be available to both of them.

Once all of them have been achieved, the dragon Shenlong will be summoned by the first player to perform a combo of at least seven hits and will fulfill a wish. The wishes available to choose from are: fully recover the health of the character in use, revive an ally, receive an additional Sparking Blast or regenerate the blue portion of the life bars of our entire team.

Each of the characters performs the movements and special attacks that have been seen throughout the history of Dragon Ball. Certain fighters are accompanied by an assistant with whom they can perform combined attacks.

The game includes dramatic scenes which are cinematic where important moments that occurred in the manga and anime are reproduced, as long as certain requirements are met, such as the characters involved and the scene of the fight. This is the basic outline of the game mechanics of Dragon Ball FighterZ.
