‘Superman’ is the most anticipated upcoming project in the DCU, even though the ‘Creature Commandos’ will come out first. Finally, after months of rumors and preparation, Gunn happily revealed that ‘Superman’ started filming on February 29th, which coincidentally is Superman’s birthday, in Svalbard, Norway’s Adventdalen Valley. The place was picked for looking like the Arctic and being naturally beautiful.

Regarding the cast, most of the names have already been disclosed, covering around 90%. Currently, the main cast includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Michael Holt as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord.

James Gunn used the opportunity to inform fans that all the speaking parts in the movie had been assigned.

On March 8th, filming restarted at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, scheduled to go on until August 2. Other filming spots include Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Macon. The film will introduce members of the Authority and other superheroes, with Nathan Fillion playing Guy Gardner, a Green Lantern. ‘Superman’ is slated for release on July 11, 2025.
