James Gunn Talks About ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ For The First Time
You know how we start every article we write about James Gunn, writer and director that established himself as one of the most known filmmakers for both Marvel and DC fans. After his first Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy launched his career as a comic book filmmaker, he made the sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017, and the DC movie The Suicide Squad, as well as its TV spin-off Peacemaker.
Currently, Gunn is filming the upcoming movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is set to debut on Disney+ next Holiday Season before Vol. 3 hits theaters in May 2023. After that, Gunn announced that his work at Marvel will be finished, and after that, he’ll start working on the already-announced second season of Peacemaker, and one more unknown DC project that he previously teased.
Marvel fans are expecting the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, we are also expecting this, we can say, prelude that will be all about the Yuletide Cheer. Gunn recently described that project as the greatest thing he’s ever done. It’s not like filmmakers are saying that for each and every one of their upcoming projects, but it’s enough for us to make us excited about it.

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña. Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff are all reprising their respective roles in the Holiday Special, and w will watch them next year in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is set to be Endgame for this Marvel team.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be released exclusively on Disney+ next Holiday Season, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. will be released in theaters on May 5, 2023.
