Jamie Lee Curtis Throws Shade at MCU’s Entire Phase 5 with One Word

If you’ve been keeping up with the MCU fan community in recent years, you’ve likely noticed a significant increase in negativity surrounding their projects. Since the release of ‘Endgame,’ the studio has struggled to find compelling stories, with the quality of writing often described as abysmal.

Additionally, there are numerous criticisms about the studio replacing core Avengers members with characters that many perceive as irrelevant and uninteresting.

This has led to most recent MCU projects flopping, except for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ which was both critically acclaimed and profitable. ‘The Marvels,’ the major second installment of the ‘Captain Marvel’ franchise, lost a record amount of money and is now the lowest-grossing MCU movie of all time.

This sentiment that the MCU is currently bad isn’t just among fans; it’s also being discussed in Hollywood. During her SDCC appearance, Jamie Lee Curtis was asked which phase the MCU is in, and the acclaimed actress responded with “Bad.”

This isn’t the first time the actress has taken a jab at the popular superhero franchise. In 2022, Jamie Lee Curtis made several social media posts comparing her film ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ to Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ highlighting that both films explore the multiverse concept. Curtis accused ‘Doctor Strange’ of mimicking her film’s artwork and suggested that her movie, despite its smaller budget, outshines Marvel’s. She praised ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ for its heart, visual appeal, performances, and fight scenes, claiming it achieved more with significantly fewer financial resources.

“Is it JUST me? Does it seem STRANGE that our tiny movie that could and did and continues to do ##1movieinamerica and is TRULY MARVELOUS, out marvels any Marvel movie they put out there @everythingeverywheremovie has a Marvel movie coming out with a copycat poster? Is this one of those Internet feuds?”

“MARVELOUS! It has a deep BEATING heart and BRILLIANT visual treats, EXTRAORDINARY performances and FANTASTIC BEASTLY FIGHT SCENES…… AND it COST LESS than the ENTIRE craft service budget on Doctor Strange and/or any other Marvel movie.

“COMPETITIVE? F*** YES. I wasn’t head cheerleader in high school for nothing. And P.S. our movie has a dynamite dildo fight scene as well as a very erotic hotdog hand mating dance and rocks.”

Jamie Lee Curtis won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” and in my opinion, the movie is better than “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” However, claiming that “Doctor Strange” was a ripoff of her film is a bit amusing.
