Kristen Stewart Reveals Who Could Talk Her into Playing a Role in a Superhero MovieSystem Would Have to Change

Kristen Stewart became widely known after starring as Jodie Foster’s daughter in the 2002 thriller ‘Panic Room.’ But it was her role as Bella Swan in the ‘Twilight’ series, starting in 2008, that made her a global star. The success of ‘Twilight’ boosted her career and made her one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses.

Before ‘Twilight,’ Stewart appeared in indie films like ‘Speak’ and ‘Into the Wild,’ which shaped her career trajectory. While she’s been in various movie projects, including both big and small productions, she hasn’t been part of a superhero film, particularly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This was something she talked about on the ‘Not Skinny but Not Fat Podcast.’

Kristen opened her commentary on making superhero movies with “sounds like a fucking nightmare, actually

When host Amanda Hirsch proposed Kristen Stewart as a potential Mary Jane “MJ” Watson for the Spider-Man movie, Stewart expressed her preference for roles and mentioned her appreciation for large-scale productions because she enjoys connecting with fans through movies. However, she pointed out that if she were to take on a superhero role, there would need to be changes in the system.

system would have to change. You would have to put so much money and so much trust into one person…and it doesn’t happen. And so therefore what ends up happening is this algorithmic, weird experience where you can’t feel personal at all about it.

Stewart seems to prioritize other types of roles over those in MCU productions. However, she mentioned that she would consider joining if asked by director Greta Gerwig.

While we may not see Stewart in the ‘Avengers’ anytime soon, she has plenty on her plate. Apart from acting, she’s stepping into writing and directing with her first feature film, adapting Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir, ‘The Chronology of Water.’ She’s also slated to play Joan Vollmer in Ben Foster’s directorial debut, and has roles lined up to portray Susan Sontag in a biopic titled ‘Sontag,’ and to star in the road trip comedy ‘Sacramento’ alongside Michael Cera.
