Before the MCU expanded to Disney+, Netflix had its own microverse of series dedicated to street-level superheroes called ‘The Defenders Saga.’ Among the most notable shows was ‘Jessica Jones,’ which followed the cynical, alcoholic, and flawed anti-hero of the same name.

The canonicity of ‘The Defenders Saga’ has long been a topic of debate among fans, a question that has recently been addressed by the release of ‘Echo’ and the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’

Since Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is being integrated into the MCU, with his story both rebooted and continued from his previous Netflix seasons, rumors have circulated that the stories of Jessica Jones, Danny Rand, and Luke Cage might also continue. Krysten Ritter, who portrayed Jessica Jones, has repeatedly expressed her eagerness to return to the role.

Over the past several months, Ritter has dropped a few hints, such as posing in Jessica’s T-shirt and posting a photo of herself with pink hair on her private social media accounts.

Recently, while discussing her character in ‘Orphan Black: Echoes,’ Ritter talked about how her role in ‘Breaking Bad’ influenced her current roles. She also answered a few questions related to her MCU return, teasing fans as always:

I am ready and I would, of course, be there in a heartbeat. She’s a character who I absolutely love, and she was a part of my life for so long. […]So if the opportunity calls, I may or may not have an extra jacket already. Fingers crossed, you never know. But that would be exciting, of course.

While nothing concrete has been confirmed beyond rumors and the hints Ritter has shared on social media, the success of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ might pave the way for the resurrection of other shows.
