Krysten Ritter Says That Jessica Jones Is The Newest Disney Princess Now

After Marvel TV shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher (which are now labeled as The Defenders Saga) left their original network, Netflix, last month, they have been officially moved to Disney+ two days ago. Due to that, Disney now assembled almost the entire Marvel content that exists under its umbrella, except the ones that are still under Sony.

While the fans are calling Disney and Marvel Studios through social media to revive all the shows that were canceled after Netflix lost the right for these characters, particularly Daredevil, some stars of these shows have called fans to rewatch them again on the new platform. One of them is Krysten Ritter.

Ritter debuted as Jessica Jones in her own series of the same name in 2015. The second season arrived in 2018, and the series ended with a third season in June 2019. Jessica Jones and Daredevil are the only shows of The Defenders Saga that reached three seasons. In her recent Instagram post, Ritter called her fans to rewatch the series on Disney+, and what’s even more interesting, she said that Jessica Jones is now the newest Disney princess.

It’s a known fact that Disney has a huge roster of princesses, which were presented mostly through animated movies. The first Marvel character that was labeled as the Disney princess was Letitia Wright’s Shuri from the Black Panther movie, and she also reprised the role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. She will also reprise the role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which will be released next November.

“Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.” — Jessica Jones, official synopsis

All three seasons of Jessica Jones are now streaming on Disney+.
