Doctor Strange’s iconic Greenwich Village townhouse has become one of LEGO’s most dependable Marvel buildings. The Sanctum Sanctorum has appeared in several sets over the years, including 2018’s Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown and a massive 2022 version packed with 2,708 pieces.

That 2022 model, which retailed for $249.99, was aimed squarely at adult collectors and featured scenes from ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. It has since retired, and it now commands a much higher price on the secondhand market.

Now LEGO has revealed a brand-new take on the Sanctum, and this one comes straight from the multiverse. The LEGO Marvel ‘What If…?’ Doctor Strange Supreme set, numbered 67005, was officially unveiled with a price tag of $99.99, £89.99, or €99.99.

It’s LEGO’s first Marvel ‘What If…?’ set in more than 5 years. The 814-piece build recreates the Sanctum on a smaller scale as part of LEGO’s Marvel mini-modular collection, adding to the growing Marvel modular street.

Rather than the mainstream mansion, this version is under siege. The set leans into the zombie storyline from ‘What If…?’ and the standalone ‘Marvel Zombies’ series, featuring 3 decaying, zombie-infested floors.

The set includes 6 new minifigures, led by Strange Supreme, a central character across the first 2 seasons of ‘What If…?’. He’s joined by Zombie Hunter Spider-Man, F.R.I.D.A.Y. with her teddy bear head, and Wanda Maximoff as the zombified Red Queen.

Rounding out the lineup are Zombie Namor and Zombie Thor. Earlier rumors had suggested Zombie Iron Man would be included, but the official lineup swaps him out for F.R.I.D.A.Y.

Fans of the animated series will find plenty of nods to the source material. The build features removable portals to other dimensions, as well as accessories like the syringe used to develop a zombie cure, the Book of Cagliostro and the Book of Vishanti.

There’s even a nod to Throg, albeit in his regular frog form. The minifigures also come with gear like a spiderweb, chaos magic effects, a spear, and a zombified version of Stormbreaker. Aimed at builders ages 9 and up, the set measures more than 11.5 inches tall. LEGO is also pitching it as a display piece for teens and adults who love the series.

The reveal has sparked plenty of chatter online, especially around the cost. Some fans have joked about paying full price for what looks like half a building, while others have praised the set’s unique zombie theme.

For comparison, the new set costs about $150 less than the 2022 Sanctum, which had more than 3 times as many pieces. At $99.99, it sits in a mid-sized range that balances accessibility with enough detail for display.

The reveal kicks off what’s shaping up to be a busy 2027 for LEGO Marvel. It also follows the recent release of the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ New Avengers Tower set, showing how closely LEGO continues to work alongside Marvel’s biggest projects.

Interestingly, the set was originally rumored back in June under the name Strange Supreme Sanctum. That rumor left some fans puzzled, given that ‘What If…?’ wrapped up in 2024.

LEGO Marvel ‘What If…?’ Doctor Strange Supreme arrives in LEGO stores and online on January 1, 2027. Pre-orders are already available on LEGO.com for fans who want to secure theirs early. For collectors who missed out on the earlier Sanctum sets, this zombie-filled version offers a fresh and more affordable way to add the mystical townhouse to their shelves.
