LEGO Is Bringing the ‘Marvel Zombies’ Undead Apocalypse to Your Shelf With a Creepy New Sanctorum Set
The zombie apocalypse is about to get a whole lot brickier. LEGO has been steadily expanding its Marvel range with collector-grade builds, and if a newly surfaced leak is anything to go by, the brand is preparing to wade deep into the undead corner of the MCU with a set that looks tailor-made for fans of its darkest animated series.
‘Marvel Zombies’ premiered on Disney+ on September 24, 2025, functioning as a spin-off from the animated anthology ‘What If…?’ and following a desperate group of survivors as they race to stop a plague that has turned Earth’s mightiest heroes into flesh-craving undead. The series centered on characters including Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, and Riri Williams as they battled through a zombified apocalypse while facing infected versions of their former allies. Critically the show was a mixed bag, but its appetite for horror and its willingness to go further than any prior MCU animated project made it a standout for a particular breed of fan.
That same audience now has something very specific to celebrate. According to a post from LEGO news account @the_brick_news, a ‘Marvel Zombies’ Strange Supreme Sanctorum set is reportedly heading to shelves in January 2027. The build clocks in at 814 pieces, a relatively compact entry for a Sanctorum-themed set, and it comes loaded with a minifigure roster that reads like a horror-tinged roll call of fan favourites. Included are Zombie Thor, Zombie Iron Man, Zombie Wanda, Zombie Namor, Spider-Man, and Strange Supreme, with that last figure representing a particularly intriguing addition for fans who know the character’s convoluted animated history.
Strange Supreme, the corrupted and grief-consumed variant of Stephen Strange, has woven his way through several MCU animated projects. In ‘What If…?’ Season 2, he appeared as a central antagonist, trapping universe killers as a self-imposed punishment for causing the death of his own world after his attempts to resurrect Christine Palmer ended in catastrophic failure. The inclusion of that character as the named anchor of this new set, alongside a lineup of zombified Avengers, suggests LEGO is leaning into the multiverse mythology that makes ‘Marvel Zombies’ feel distinct from standard superhero fare.
The pairing of Strange Supreme with a Zombie Namor minifigure is also notable, as Namor has rarely appeared in LEGO Marvel sets at all. For collectors who track the rarity of individual minifigures, this roster alone may be reason enough to keep the January 2027 date circled. ‘Marvel Zombies’ outperformed heavy hitters like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ on streaming charts across more than 30 countries in its debut week, so LEGO tapping the property for an expanded line of sets makes considerable commercial sense.
Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum has already confirmed that a second season of ‘Marvel Zombies’ is in production, with early animation reportedly underway and the new season expected to push into MCU territory that has never been explored before. A January 2027 LEGO release would time out neatly with that renewed buzz, giving collectors something tactile to hold while the animated undead lurch toward whatever unprecedented mayhem Season 2 has planned.
With the Sanctorum itself rendered as a detailed architectural build and six genuinely unusual minifigures packed into the box, this set is shaping up to be one of the more exciting LEGO Marvel reveals of the year. Whether you’re a completionist builder or a zombie-variant hunter who has been patiently waiting for a proper Strange Supreme figure, let us know in the comments which minifigure from this leaked set has you reaching for your wallet first.
