Link Click Season 2 Plot

The plot of a potential second season of Link Click is still a mystery. Link Click is an original series and in that aspect, we don’t know what the writers have in store for us for a potential second season. Sure, we do know that the story is going to be continued, but we still don’t know how and where it will end up. What follows is an overview of the first season that will bring you an insight into what you could be expecting in the second season.

Somewhere in an unknown Chinese city is the small “Shi Guang Photo Shop”, run by Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang. Although there is not much going on, the real business of the two consists of their special ability: While Lu Guang can see into the past through photos that happened around them after the pictures were taken, Cheng Xiaoshi can travel into this past.

He takes over the body and part of the knowledge of the person who took the picture for up to 24 hours after the photograph was taken. Cheng Xiaoshi can control the behavior of the person he has taken over in the past, thus changing the past. But therein lies a great danger for their presence, which is why Lu Guang keeps warning him about it.

From the present, the quick-tempered Cheng Xiaoshi is advised by the cautious Lu Guang on how to carry out the assignment. This is how the two do the jobs that Qiao Ling, who acts like their manager, gives them. The young woman is their landlady and has been friends with them for a long time. In the assignments, they are supposed to spy out secrets like private detectives, solve criminal cases and help people with their personal conflicts that have happened in the past through mistakes or something unknown to them.

But Qiao Ling and the customers are unaware of the skills of Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, who always do their jobs in secret. Since Cheng Xiaoshi lost his parents when he was a small child and is easily swayed into rash actions, Lu Guang tries to keep from him what might be troubling Cheng Xiaoshi. When they travel into the past of secretary Emma, Lu Guang hides the fact that she will be murdered shortly after the end of the assignment.

The murder occurs during a trip Emma took because of Cheng Xiaoshi’s meddling in the past. In one of the next assignments, Cheng Xiaoshi keeps changing the past and becomes afraid of the consequences himself – until he learns that an earthquake happened shortly afterward and killed everyone he interacted with.

So all his past changes could not have lasting consequences. In a later case where the two are looking for a lost child, they come into contact with the police. Again, Cheng Xiaoshi intervened in the past, so that the child was treated differently by the kidnapper. The police want to ask her for help in a murder spree that includes the murder of Emma, so Lu Guang refuses.

Soon the two are commissioned by a friend who they know from their studies. Xu Shanshan wants to know if her longtime boyfriend confessed love to her while she was drunk. In the past, Cheng Xiaoshi suddenly sees a man he thinks is a serial killer and pursues him. He is overpowered but is not the killer. Back in the present, the three are no longer able to contact Xu Shanshan.

It was featured in the newspaper after Cheng Xiaoshi’s persecution. Instead, they receive a mysterious message on Xu Shanshan’s cell phone. So they fear that the real killer might have kidnapped their friend and Lu Guang goes to the police. There he wants to help with his abilities and notes in a photo that Cheng Xiaoshi meanwhile went into the past on his own.

He has learned that she was murdered, follows her that evening, and learns who murdered her. Cheng Xiaoshi now understands the consequences of his past changes and apologizes to Lu Guang upon his return, while Qiao Ling thus learns of their abilities. But when the police go to the possible perpetrator, he is in a wheelchair and has an alibi.

A video recording is found that shows Emma alone at night without the perpetrator. Cheng Xiaoshi manages to lure the culprit into a trap by traveling back into Xu Shanshan’s past, confronting him, and challenging him to enter the photoshop. There he is overpowered by Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi. It is actually the perpetrator he identified, who does not appear to be paralyzed.

But soon he can’t remember anything, says contradictory things, and accuses a friend. Cheng Xiaoshi wants to know what happened to Emma and travels back in time to videotape her. He finds her just before she is about to throw herself off a bridge and is able to convince her to continue living. But suddenly her eyes change and she throws herself down.

At the same time, Qiao Ling’s body is taken over in the present and she stabs Lu Guang. Cheng Xiaoshi returns and finds the bleeding Lu Guang and the possessed Qiao Ling. The person, who apparently also has the ability to travel through time, berates Cheng Xiaoshi for changing the past and demands that their “game” be continued.

Where to watch Link Click Season 2?

The first season of Link Click premiered in China on the bilibili platform, which is also where you’ll be able to watch the second season as well. It was subsequently licensed and streamed on Funimation and Crunchyroll internationally, which is why we assume that the same thing is going to happen for season two. If a second season does happen, it’ll probably be broadcast in China before it reaches one or several streaming services.
