Marvel Confirms Moon Knight’s Return
It’s been two years since Moon Knight made his debut in the MCU through his own standalone series, quickly becoming a fan favorite. While Phase 4 introduced many stories that remain unfinished, Moon Knight was one of several characters whose appearances have yet to be referenced elsewhere in the MCU.
However, this is set to change in the realm of Marvel Animation. During the D23 Marvel Animation panel, it was confirmed that Moon Knight will return for the third and final season of ‘What If…?’.
The Season 3 footage of ‘What If…?’ includes brief scenes of mechs battling Mega Hulk, Shang-Chi in a western setting, Wong in new armor, Red Guardian and Winter Soldier from the trailer, Moon Knight’s MCU return, and Ironheart with multiple Iron Legion drones. Moon Knight will join an Avengers team with Captain America (Sam Wilson) and Monica Rambeau, fighting gamma monsters in mechs.
While it’s not confirmed if Oscar Isaac will return to voice Moon Knight, it’s likely given that many actors have reprised their roles in the animated series. Besides his confirmed appearance in ‘What If…?’ Season 3, Moon Knight is also rumored to feature in the still-unconfirmed ‘Midnight Sons’ project, which is reportedly in development. Additionally, there were speculations about Moon Knight appearing in the upcoming ‘Marvel Zombies’ show, but he was not included in the exclusive footage, so this remains unconfirmed.
