Marvel Drops a Cryptic Binary Clue About the Maximoff Family Ahead of New ‘VisionQuest’ Episodes
Marvel has never been shy about keeping fans guessing, and its latest teaser for ‘VisionQuest’ might be one of its most puzzling yet. The Disney+ series is the third and final chapter in the small-screen trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ in 2021 and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’ in 2024, bringing Paul Bettany’s Vision back to center stage.
Created by Terry Matalas, best known for ’12 Monkeys’ and ‘Star Trek: Picard’, the show premiered with its first 2 episodes on October 13, a day earlier than originally planned. By the start of the series, Vision has been posing as a human for years and works at a pub under the name “Sherwood Ellis.”
Now, Marvel’s Latin American account has added a fresh layer of mystery. On X, Marvel LATAM shared a post tagged #VisionQuest that, at first glance, looks like nothing more than a wall of binary code.
Once decoded, the message reads in Spanish, “Hay otros Maximoff. La familia Maximoff.” Translated to English, that becomes “There are other Maximoffs. The Maximoff family.” The phrase is short, but it has fans buzzing about who exactly Marvel might be hinting at. Marvel hasn’t explained the post, so for now, everything remains speculation.
The most obvious candidate is Billy Maximoff, played by Joe Locke in ‘Agatha All Along’. Marvel hasn’t confirmed his return, but the trailers have hinted at it, and Locke attended the series’ London premiere on October 12, where he posed alongside Bettany and co-star Ruaridh Mollica.

Of course, the message could also be more symbolic. Some fans believe it may simply refer to Vision trying to reconnect emotionally with the memories of the family he lost. The series has already reintroduced one Maximoff. Mollica plays Tommy Maximoff, Vision and Wanda’s son, whose soul now lives in the body of Thomas Shepherd after surviving the destruction of the Hex.
Tommy surfaces in Scotland, giving Vision a real chance to reclaim part of his old life. Like his uncle Pietro, he has superhuman speed, while his twin Billy inherited magical abilities similar to their mother’s.

Family sits at the heart of the show. Speaking about the series, Matalas told ABC7 that it is an honor to close out the chapter while hopefully opening new doors “with this strange AI Maximoff family.”
‘VisionQuest’ also brings back some major MCU figures. James Spader returns as the voice of Ultron, whose complicated, almost father-like relationship with Vision is one of the show’s central dynamics.
James D’Arcy appears as J.A.R.V.I.S., and Faran Tahir returns as Raza, the Ten Rings leader from ‘Iron Man’. The cast also includes Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan and Emily Hampshire.

Early reactions have been strong. Forbes praised the premiere as a thoughtful story about love, grief, identity and resurrection, singling out Bettany and Spader for their performances.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see whether the binary clue pays off. ‘VisionQuest’ runs for 8 episodes, with episodes 3 and 4 arriving on October 20, followed by episodes 5 and 6 on October 27. The final 2 episodes will release separately, with episode 7 landing on November 3 and the finale arriving on November 10. Each new installment drops at 6 p.m. PT on Disney+.
Whether the message points to Billy’s return or something deeper, it’s clear Marvel wants fans thinking about the Maximoff legacy. With several episodes still to come, the clue could be setting up one of the series’ biggest emotional moments.
