Birds on the trees already know that the upcoming MCU movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will fully open the gates to Marvel Multiverse. Doctor Strange, who was described in one of the official synopses as one of the central Avengers, recently showed up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which the Multiverse was also a huge part of the storyline. But think of it like this, if No Way Home was a single drop, Multiverse of Madness will be the whole rain.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of Marvel’s most ambitious projects yet. And yes, we said that for Infinity War, Endgame, and No Way Home too, but what can we do when Marvel is constantly pushing the boundaries. According to some rumors, the upcoming Multiverse of Madness will feature the most characters than any other Marvel movie before, including Endgame. We have no idea what they planned for this, but whatever it is, it’s big.

With such a huge movie in front of us, it’s natural that there are a lot of rumors going around about who might appear in this movie, and considering that rumors and leaks are coming from so many sources that it’s almost impossible to clarify which rumors are legit and which are not, we decided to make this list where we will clarify which actors are 100% confirmed to appear in this movie.

Disclaimer: The following list features only actors who are officially and 100% confirmed to appear in the movie, any rumored and/or leaked actor who might or might not appear won’t be included. If you want to see the list of all the rumored actors who might, just might, appear in the movie, we have a separate list which you can find on the link below.

Every Rumored & Confirmed Cameos In Doctor Strange 2

Benedict Cumberbatch

Of course, let’s start with the most obvious. After debuting as the titular character in the 2016 original Doctor Strange movie, Benedict Cumberbatch now returns in the Multiverse of Madness, which will mark his fifth appearance as the Master of the Mystic Arts (excluding the voice role he had in What If…?). Cumberbatch also played the role in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. When you look at it, it seems like it’s a default setting for every bigger Marvel movie nowadays to feature Doctor Strange. Cumberbatch will play several different variants of the character, and we already know there will be one evil Strange, Defender Strange, and Zombie Strange.

Elizabeth Olsen

Ever since she debuted as Wanda Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen became one of the fan-favorite actors in the franchise. Olsen reprised the role in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and the first Disney+ Marvel series WandaVision. Wanda’s appearance in the Multiverse of Madness was confirmed immediately after the movie was announced in July 2019, and her involvement in this movie is certainly one of the aspects that hypes up this movie even more than it should.

Chiwetel Ejiofor

Chiwetel Ejiofor debuted as Mordo in the original Doctor Strange movie back in 2016. Mordo was a friend and a mentor to Strange when he first arrived in Kamar-Taj. As the end of that movie implied, Mordo will now become an antagonist who believes that one of the things wrong with this world is that there are too many sorcerers out there.

Benedict Wong

Whenever you see Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, you can be sure that Benedict Wong is somewhere close. Wong plays Wong, Master of the Mystic Arts who we met as the librarian in Kamar-Taj. Wong reprised the role in every movie in which Cumberbatch appeared as Strange, and it’s obvious we’ll see more of him in this upcoming installment.

Xochitl Gomez

Xochitl Gomez is one of the newcomers. In this movie, she will debut as America Chavez, a teenager who has the ability to travel between dimensions and different parts of the Multiverse. Not much is known about her role in the movie, but she will definitely be an essential part of the movie.

Patrick Stewart

Patrick Stewart was one of the surprises that the first official trailer gave us. Stewart played the role of Charles Xavier/Professor X in FOX’s X-Men franchise between 2000 and 2017. His character died in 2017’s Logan, but Stewart will now be introduced in the MCU as the alternate version of the character. We do not dare to presume anything about his role, but Stewart’s appearance in the movie is something we certainly look forward to.

Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams returns as Doctor Christine Palmer from the original Doctor Strange movie, in which she played Strange’s colleague and love interest. At the end of the movie, Strange made a decision to protect New York Sanctum instead of returning to her after fixing his hands. The movie will reportedly feature Strange who is questioning his decision, considering he still has feelings for her. McAdams will also play alternate versions of the character.

Michael Stuhlbarg

If you don’t remember him, Stuhlbarg played Dr. West in the first Doctor Strange movie, who was a rival surgeon to Strange. Nothing about his role in the sequel was specified.

Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne

Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne played Vision and Wanda’s sons Billy and Tommy in the WandaVision series. Their role in Multiverse of Madness was confirmed in one of the TV spots Marvel previously revealed. They disappeared from Wanda’s mirage at the end of the series, so we can only assume what their role is going to be in this movie.

Bruce Campbell

Sam Raimi, director of the movie, loves to have Bruce Campbell in his movies. We remember that Campbell played three different roles in the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, which Raimi directed between 2002 and 2007. In the first movie, Campbell played the announcer at the wrestling tournament. In the second movie, he played a doorman in a theater where Mary Jane acted. And in the third movie, he played the maître d’hôtel in the French restaurant where Peter Parker wanted to propose to Mary Jane, which wasn’t really successful. We can only presume what kind of cameo role he’ll have in Doctor Strange.

Topo Wresniwiro and Mark Anthony Brighton

Topo Wresniwiro and Mark Anthony Brighton played Hamir and Daniel Drumm, two Masters of the Mystic Arts from Kamar-Taj in the first Doctor Strange movie. Their return was confirmed for the sequel, and that’s as far as the confirmed information goes regarding their role in the Multiverse of Madness.

Hayley Atwell

In one of the latest TV spots revealed by Marvel, we could’ve seen a glimpse of Wanda Maximoff, or one of her variants, fighting Captain Carter, who was voiced by Hayley Atwell in the What If…? animated series. Atwell also played the role of Peggy Carter in the MCU since 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, so as one of the MCU veterans, her return shouldn’t be a surprise and of course, she can come back any time. The TV spot we mentioned didn’t show us her face, but her shield from the What If…? can be clearly seen. We’ll need to wait for the movie to see what’s that all about.
