Max Excludes Hit DC Animated Series from December 2024 Release Schedule

Harley Quinn is an adult animated TV show based on the DC Comics character. It follows Harley Quinn and her best friend, Poison Ivy, after Harley leaves her boyfriend, the Joker.

The show first aired on November 29, 2019, and was created by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. The first two seasons were on DC Universe, then it moved to HBO Max for season 3 and Max for season 4. A holiday special aired in February 2023, and in November 2023, the show was renewed for a fifth season.

Dean Lorey, the co-creator, mentioned in July that season 5 might premiere in the last few months of 2024. The official Harley Quinn account on X also stated the show would be “back in November.”

As November ends and December nears, there’s no official premiere date for Harley Quinn Season 5, suggesting the release might be delayed. Max shared its December schedule but left out Season 5, which could mean it won’t come out in 2024 as planned. However, the schedule is not final, and it could change.

The delay might be due to several reasons, including mixed reactions to Joker: Folie à Deux and Lady Gaga’s role as Harley Quinn.

Recently, showrunner Dean Lorey mentioned in a Reddit AMA that he believes Harley Quinn Season 5 could be released in January 2025.
